Working with the Process Engineering Team & our customers ensure: All new processes and or applications where manufacturability is a potential issue are identified Our processes are manufacturable prior to release Current Skills/Competencies Required: In-depth technical knowledge of the SiC discrete process and business goals as well as other technological areas not typically/currently associated with SiC in industry such as CMOS Strong device physics understanding for Si as well as WBG materials. High level of knowledge concerning WBG material processing. Strong understanding of both material and electrical characterization methods and data preparation and analysis. Understanding of PCM design and test routines Ability to create and publish design rules and aid in DRC creation Be proficient in design architectures for various technology types as well as the layout tools required to implement designs Strong written and verbal communication skills. Responsibilities: * Work as the senior staff member to design, build, and deploy a secure and compliant AWS platform * Collaborate openly and frankly with all internal and external partners, such as Government Engineers, Contractor Engineers, Contractor Operations staff, Management, and 3rd party vendors * Ensure timely delivery of all Engineering Service Requests, removing any obstacles to completing work as scheduled * Perform risk analysis of each Engineering Service Request, and inform all stakeholders of the applicable risks * Develop, maintain, and execute project plan in support of the platform development and future support * Perform and coordinate project management activities in accordance with the customers project management team * Discuss projects at a technical level * Establish project milestones and monitor adherence to project scope, requirements, and schedules * Coordinate with internal and external organizations by arranging, chairing, and facilitating meetings to establish project requirements and schedules while ensuring these are well understood and achievable * Provide regular status reporting for project activities which is circulated to the key stakeholders. Support internal Xylem departments, both inside and outside the Lubbock location, with vertical turbine product and process expertise. Support customers with engineering questions related to product design, application, testing, and field troubleshooting. Support the Design Engineering team with engineered-to-order projects and designs, from concept to CAD model and drawing creation. Oversee engineering projects related to product design, product improvement, and process improvement. Support the Engineering Manager with product certification and compliance activities. Create new ISO documents, forms, procedures, and work instructions for the Engineering Department. Understand and revise existing ISO files as required. Maintain awareness of new processes and procedures in the marketplace (i.e. additive manufacturing practices) that can improve the vertical turbine product line from a quality, delivery, and cost perspective. Attend MRB (management review board) meetings and make recommendations and dispositions for non-conforming products. Provide engineering training to new engineering hires as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager. QUALIFICATIONS: B.S. Mechanical Engineering, or a different engineering degree from an accredited university at the Engineering Manager's discretion, plus An aptitude for good analytical skills and the ability to organize and implement engineering tasks. The ability to interface well with others and to direct, and take direction from others, as required. PLUSES: 2-3 years engineering experience in the pumping or hydraulic machinery field. 3-5 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with PTC Creo, PTC Windchill.
