PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Performs advanced engineering problem solving in support of power plants. Responsible for technical decisions. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provides in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering activities related to plant safety, reliability, maintainability, and availability ensuring compliance to customer's needs, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies
Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications.

The successful candidate will apply mechanical and model based systems engineering skills and experience to develop, integrate, and provide life cycle support for various launchers and payload systems, including unmanned undersea vehicles.
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) is the United States Navy's full-spectrum research, development, test and evaluation, engineering and fleet support center for submarines, autonomous underwater systems, and offensive and defensive weapons systems associated with undersea warfare. Good mechanical skills with familiarity of common hand tools and power tools, ability to work independently.
Must be able to work while wearing full Firefighter's Turnout gear with SCBA for an extended period of time in a wet and smoky environment
Must be able to obtain certification for using a personal respirator and work while wearing one for an extended period of time in a wet and smoky environment
Excellent communication and customer service skills (both orally and in writing) and the ability to work effectively as a member of a team are required.
