The Research and Development organization is embedded within each of our Clorox business, taking new generations of consumer products from concept to reality. Job Description
This internship opportunity is in Western Digital's Research organization, which tackles advanced long-horizon problems related to data storage, computation and communication. In addition to supporting magnetic storage and memory roadmap of Western Digital, we are focused on several key areas that are well aligned with our existing experimental and theoretical skills, and existing laboratory facilities
Western Digital Research has a number of projects for ambitious graduate students. Our group has projects emphasizing either embedded AI inference or the design and testing of superconducting quantum computing qubits. Track 1:
As an Intern in Quantum Computing, your project will require several of the following tasks:
Assist in the design and testing of superconducting quantum computing qubits
Collaborate with team members on quantum computing experiments and simulations

Analyze and interpret experimental data using various data analysis and visualization tools

About the role:
The Computational Biology group at 10x Genomics is looking for an outstanding intern to work with us in the summer of 2026 for our Xenium product. This person will investigate and develop approaches on Few-Shot Learning for adapting a pre-trained cell segmentation model to a much wider range of cell morphologies, using only a very limited amount of annotated samples. They will work closely with our imaging and assay-development teams to push the state-of-the-art in spatial transcriptomics. The intern will be involved in selecting, implementing, testing, and optimizing models for the purpose of few shot learning, rapidly prototyping methods for internal experiments and early R&D.
Interns will work on a mix of “real-world” product features that will ship to customers soon, and longer-term exploratory proof-of-concept work to test new ideas.
Individuals applying for this position should have a strong background in computer vision and machine learning. You have a deep understanding of the theory, implementation, and practical application of various relevant algorithms. In close collaboration with experimental and computational partners, the intern will contribute to data quality assessment, automated annotation (including segmentation and particle picking), benchmarking of computational methods, and workflow documentation. The project emphasizes applying and stress-testing automated analysis tools on challenging biological datasets to support scalable, reproducible cryo ET analysis.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and
Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.

What Your Job Will Be Like The Computer Science Research Institute (CSRI) seeks several students (job title: summer R&D undergraduate intern) to participate in collaborative research across a wide range of areas in computer science, applied mathematics, discrete mathematics, mathematical modeling, computational science and engineering, and high-performance computing. Possible research areas are broad and include quantum computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced computer architectures, systems software, parallel algorithms, programming languages and paradigms, data sciences, materials, combinatorial mathematics, discrete event simulation, scalable solvers, continuous and discrete optimization, uncertainty quantification, statistics, multiscale methods and mathematics, multiphysics modeling, visualization, meshing, advanced modeling and simulation, human decision modeling, and brain inspired computing. Security Clearance
This position does not currently require a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.
Sandia will conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Furthermore, employees in New Mexico need to pass a U.S. Air Force background screen for access to Kirtland Air Force Base. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause access to be denied or terminated, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. The UPIV process will include the completion of a USAccess Enrollment, SF-85 (Questionnaire for Non-Sensitive Positions) and OF-306 (Declaration of for Federal Employment). An unfavorable UPIV determination will result in immediate retrieval of the SNL issued badge, removal of cyber (logical) access and/or removal from SNL subcontract. All MOWs may appeal the unfavorable UPIV determination to DOE/NNSA immediately. If the appeal is unsuccessful, the MOW may try to go through the UPIV process one year after the decision date.
