This is Cradle Proteins are the molecular machines of life, used for many therapeutic, diagnostic, chemical, agricultural and food applications. Designing and optimizing proteins takes a lot of expert knowledge and manual effort, through the use of custom computational and biological tools.
Machine learning is revolutionising this space, by enabling high-fidelity protein models. At Cradle, we offer a software platform for AI-guided discovery and optimization of proteins, so that biologists can design proteins faster and at scale. We are already used by clients across pharma, biotech, agritech, foodtech, and academia.

What we're looking for
We are looking for a motivated Research Associate to strengthen our Large Libraries team. This team is responsible for developing and running high-throughput workflows for generating massive-scale protein libraries and screening them to produce datasets with >10^6 data points. These datasets power our machine learning models to accelerate protein optimization for antibodies, enzymes, and other protein classes. We're building cutting-edge experimental capabilities incorporating technologies like FACS, display platforms (yeast, phage, mRNA), microfluidics, and next-generation sequencing, working hand in hand with our ML algorithms.

Responsibilities
As a Research Associate in the Large Libraries team, you will:
* Run workflows for large-scale library construction, protein display platform preparation (e.g. yeast display, phage display), high-throughput screening (e.g. FACS), and NGS sample preparation.
* Operate and maintain high-throughput screening equipment and automation platforms to generate high-quality datasets.
* Suggest and work on improvements to make these workflows more efficient, robust, scalable, and integrated with our ML pipeline.
* Effectively communicate results, successes, and challenges in a cross-functional environment.

* Hands-on experience with standard cloning techniques and DNA library construction.

The Role:
Clear Street is seeking an equity research associate to join our dynamic equity research team. We are looking for an associate to work with a senior analyst in the Energy and Industrials team covering companies involved in renewable energy, clean technologies, energy efficiency, alternative materials, power grid improvement infrastructure, conventional energy, industrial end markets and additional industries. The candidate's duties will include drafting and assisting in the production and creation of research reports and other materials for internal and external distribution, analyzing company and industry data for use in written reports and financial models, valuation analysis on covered companies and monitoring industry trends and dynamics. The candidate must possess strong attention to detail and organization skills, ability to complete tasks in a timely manner and be able to work collaboratively with senior analyst.
Responsibilities:
Develop and utilize financial models to support analyses, client communications, and investment recommendations.
Keep senior analysts informed of significant daily news and market developments.
Perform targeted industry and company research by conducting surveys, polling professionals, engaging with Key Opinion Leaders, and gathering primary data for research purposes.
Contribute to the creation of in-depth research reports, including investment strategies, data interpretation, industry or company news updates, and initial coverage assessments.
As associates progress, they will build and sustain professional relationships with company executives, industry experts, internal sales and trading teams, and institutional investors.

Qualifications & Skills:
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and attributes:
At least two (2) years of fundamental equity research experience including financial statements analysis experience, and financial modeling skills
Bachelor's degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred but not required
FINRA SIE/Series 7, Series 63, Series 86, and Series 87 licenses are required
Skilled in building and updating financial models and projections.
Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint spreadsheet proficiency
Outstanding written and verbal communication capabilities to articulate ideas and investment theses
Exhibits a strong work ethic, resourcefulness, and both critical and creative thinking abilities.
Able to excel in a dynamic, high-pressure, and deadline-oriented setting.

We offer:
The base salary range for this role is $125,000-175,000. The range is representative of the starting base salary for this role at Clear Street. Which range a candidate fits into and where a candidate falls in the range will be based on job related factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location. These ranges represent Base Salary only, which is just one element of Clear Street's total compensation. The ranges stated do not include other factors of total compensation such as bonuses or equity.

Specific Duties:
Administration: (10%):
Maintain standard operating protocols, list of reagents, study initiatives, assist with IACUC applications
Supervises and trains undergraduate students, medical students and residents in standard operating protocols
Provides weekly update at laboratory meetings
Autoimmunity Research (90%):
Works closely with Principal Investigator in the design and execution of translational studies in autoimmune disease.
Performs in vitro studies, which will include growing human cell lines and primary cells, with subsequent analysis of gene and protein expression. Studies may also include genotyping and flow cytometry, and in vivo mouse experiments.
Animal studies will incorporate use of mouse models of autoimmunity. Technician will be responsible for assisting in surgical procedures, providing animal care, and tissue harvesting techniques and post euthanasia processing.
Clinical studies will involve interaction with the clinical coordinators for collection of patient samples, and processing the samples.
The technician will interact with the research clinical coordinator and research assistants to cross-reference laboratory studies with clinical variables and outcomes.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree, biology, chemistry, or other relevant biomedical area
Skills required:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service orientation.
Proficient use of computers and software.
Experience in human cell culture and cell purifications preferred.
Experience in murine handling and experiments preferred.
Skills Preferred:
Knowledge of Orthopedic and/or Rheumatologic terminology is a plus.
