Basic Qualifications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $150,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $260,000/year in our highest geographic market. Job Details Overview and Responsibilities
KEAD is seeking a qualified person with between 0 -10 years of education / work and team experience for our Seattle office. This position will focus on providing project and technical support regarding materials investigation to project leads throughout the organization. Duties include usage and maintenance of our materials lab's equipment, collection and organization of test data, writing technical reports, design and inspection support for some of our MEP, crane or structural projects as well as managing assigned projects as a Project PM. This position includes 10-20% travel which is mostly local.
You will be working in a consulting environment with varying levels of responsibility and a wide variety of technical tasks. What You Will Be Doing:
You will manage the control systems team in the R&D department. This team is responsible for delivering and maintaining control and data acquisition systems. These systems are used to control HV electrical test bays, control plasma technology development machines, control Production Manufacturing end-of-line testing, and control FRC plasma machines of varying sizes.

* Requires contractor to take corrective action when project construction fails to meet standards. Issues stop work order if the problem is severe.
* Reviews plans and specifications for constructability. Anticipates potential problems, advises supervisor and recommends solutions or suggests alternatives.
* Ensures impacted property owners and businesses are advised of construction activities prior to the start of work, including coordination with public affairs. Anticipates potential problems and/or impacts and attempts to resolve related issues prior to receiving public complaint.
* Performs and coordinates testing of work in progress or completed work as necessary. Conducts inspections for proper use and placement of traffic control devices to assure compliancy with MUTCD guidelines and approved traffic control plans. Conducts inspections and enforces compliance relating to NPDES permits.
* Creates the walk-through notice, coordinates with City staff and other stakeholders to create a punch list, provides the punch list to the contractor and assures all punch list items have been completed. Prior to recommending projects for final approval, coordinates with other City staff to assure all project documentation has been reviewed and approved. Prepares, obtains signatures and sends Final Public Works Approval and Financial Guarantee Release letters.
* Review and provide specific conditions on permit applications for ROW construction and development related permits. Confirms right-of-way access permits have been obtained.
* Assists public and/or developers with inquiries concerning the City's development guidelines and public works standards applicable to a specific development project.
* Reviews plans and specifications for developer funded projects and identifies the conditions for development (streets, sidewalks, stormwater systems, sewer, water systems, etc.) that should be considered pertaining to the specific project. Reviews stormwater runoff and erosion control plans for compliance with guidelines for stormwater management and related development requirements. Obtains, researches, and/or prepares supporting information (compatible with existing systems, utility location, type and location of existing road improvements, and applicable public works development guidelines and standards) for projects and summarizes comments for supervisor's review. Reviews resubmitted plans and specifications and forwards recommendations to supervisor.
* Reviews latecomer agreements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
An Associate's Degree in civil engineering technology or related field AND three (3) years of work experience performing technical engineering or surveying work with emphasis in the area of assigned section responsibilities.

The pay range estimated for this position is $22.25 - $36.00 annually. Please note that hourly rates/salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data.

About our team:
Our team, CreativeX optimizations, is responsible for tailoring the visual experience of ads to each context in real time. To accomplish this, we are investing in latent-diffusion models, large language models (LLM), reinforced learning (RL), Computer Vision, and related methods.
Key job responsibilities
We are looking for talented Applied Scientists who are adept at a variety of skills, especially with reinforcement learning and recommendations, and familiarity with LLMs, latent diffusion, or related foundational models that will accelerate our plans to dynamically optimize ad creatives on behalf of advertisers. Every member of the team is expected to build customer (advertiser) facing features, contribute to the collaborative spirit within the team, publish, patent, and bring state-of-the-art research to raise the bar within the team.
Basic Qualifications
- PhD, or Master's degree and 3+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
- 3+ years of building models for business application experience
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Unix/Linux
- Experience in professional software development
- Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application
