Job Overview
The Senior Scientist R&D plays a key role in executing assigned Research & Development tasks. This includes leading the development and commercialization of aseptic dairy beverage products while serving as the technical expert for UHT processing, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and industry thought leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the ideation, development, and scale-up of aseptic dairy beverage products from concept through commercialization, leveraging advanced expertise in UHT, ESL, and other aseptic processing technologies. Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies, ingredient innovations, and regulatory changes, proactively recommending strategic adaptations to maintain competitive advantage.
Oversee multiple concurrent R&D projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams (QA/QC, Operations, Regulatory, Marketing) to accelerate new product development and resolve technical challenges. Develop and maintain advanced documentation, including experimental protocols, validation reports, and regulatory submissions, ensuring all formulations and processes meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex quality or safety issues, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. Champion food safety culture and aseptic best practices throughout the organization, driving organizational excellence in process controls and regulatory compliance.
Represent the company at industry conferences, technical forums, and with key customers, sharing insights and establishing thought leadership in UHT dairy beverage science. Build strategic relationships with industry partners and stakeholders to drive innovation and competitive positioning in the aseptic beverage market.
Min. Qualifications
Master's degree in food science, Dairy Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field is preferred.
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive R&D with 3-5 years in dairy UHT beverages experience, with a record of technical leadership and successful product launches.
Demonstrated expertise in UHT processing/ESL, process validation, and product launches.

Primary Purpose of Position

**Primary Purpose of Position**
Manage specific Radwaste / Chemistry programs as assigned. + Work with radwaste shipping to ensure all radwaste types are shipped offsite timely for cost optimization.
+ Provide leadership and mentoring in responsibilities to support radwaste programs and communication with the CEC. This will include developing others as backup support, helping others with vendor oversight, and providing guidance on key projects.
+ Receive & provide Radwaste related training, which includes preparing and delivering lesson plans. Observe and participate in classroom training activities.
+ Perform other job assignments and duties as directed by management or pursuant to company policy, including but not limited to emergency response, departmental coverage, call outs, and support of outage activities in positions outside the department.

**Primary Purpose of Position**
The Sr. Chemist provides direction and manages chemistry programs, reviewing data, monitoring performance, communicating with other Clean Energy Center (CEC) departments, maintaining regulatory compliance, writing reports, managing special projects, training personnel, maintaining analytical and radioanalytical instrumentation, maintain in-line instrumentation, maintain quality control. **Primary Duties and Accountabilities**
+ Manage Chemistry programs through the review and analysis of chemistry data, CEC walkdowns, participation in CEC troubleshooting plans, and implementation of new strategies/practices to improve performance.
+ Communicate chemistry issues, performance, and needs with CEC management and other departments.
+ Complete or provide input to Chemistry and CEC Performance Indicators.
+ Provide direction and oversight of Chemistry vendors and contracts.
+ Prepare and manage budget associated with assigned Chemistry programs.
+ Provide input to corrective action program and CEC work management meetings.
+ Manage special projects as required.
+ Participate in the training program, including attending CEC and industry training, as well as preparing or delivering lesson plans associated with Chemistry.
