Qualifications Educational / Minimum Requirements: Completion of a two year AMA approved Associate or Bachelor's level program. Minimum one year experience in respiratory care. State/Federal Mandated Licensure or Certification Requirements: NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and Connecticut State License as Respiratory Care Practitioner. BLS Certification at time of hire ACLS/PALS within 6 months of hire. Bristol Hospital Mandated Educational Requirements: General orientation at time of hire. Fire/Safety/Infection Control annually. Other programs as mandated by Hospital. Special Requirements: Computer literacy and experience in entering and retrieving PC data. Must be available for call-in or other emergency duties. Physical Requirements: On feet for most of day with moderate lifting, up to approximately 30 pounds, repetitive walking, stooping and bending throughout the work day. Work Environment: Regular exposure to a variety of patient elements including infectious and communicable diseases; occasional stress. Cognitive Requirements: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. good mathematics, analytical, and organizational skills. Able to read, comprehend and execute written and oral instructions.
