About the Role
We are seeking a strategic, business-minded Transaction Attorney to lead all legal aspects of commercial real estate transactions across our expanding national portfolio. This role covers acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and capital markets work from LOI through closing, partnering closely with acquisitions, asset management, and finance teams to advance deals and mitigate risk.
Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer & SVP of Operations, you will also build and manage a legal support team-including a junior attorney or senior paralegal and leasing/transaction coordination resources-ensuring effective delegation, operational leverage, and consistent deal execution.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all phases of commercial real estate transactions nationwide, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and leasing.
Draft, review, and negotiate LOIs, purchase and sale agreements, joint venture documents, loan agreements, leases, and closing documents.
Oversee title and survey review, due diligence, and closing coordination, ensuring timely resolution of contingencies and deliverables.
Support capital markets initiatives by reviewing and negotiating financing structures, debt documents, and related agreements.
Provide leasing expertise across retail, industrial, office, and ground leases; advise on tenant issues, REAs, use restrictions, and renewals.
Develop and maintain templates, playbooks, and policies to streamline and standardize transactional processes.

Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school; licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. state with ability to waive into Illinois.
5+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience, ideally within a fully integrated real estate investment, private equity, or law firm environment.
Proven ability to independently structure, negotiate, and close acquisitions, dispositions, and financings as lead counsel.
Strong knowledge of title/survey review, ALTA requirements, and complex closing logistics.
Exceptional negotiation, drafting, and communication skills, with sound business judgment and a pragmatic approach.
Experience with joint ventures, entity formation, or real estate funds is a plus.
Highly organized, responsive, and able to manage multiple concurrent deals in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Compensation

Our Talent Managers work in a team environment and have responsibility for negotiating and developing business with new and current clients. Talent Managers market our services via telephone, video and by conducting in-person meetings with hiring managers and decision-makers in technology departments. Additional responsibilities include: recruiting, interviewing and matching highly skilled information technology professionals with clients' projects, contract assignments and contract to full-time opportunities; managing ongoing engagements to deliver outstanding customer service to both clients and candidates; providing ongoing communication and career guidance to candidates; and participating in local trade association and networking events to increase Robert Half's presence in the local business community.
Qualifications:
Information systems or related degree preferred.
1+ years experience working in and IT-related field is preferred.
2+ years' experience with Business Development in a Metrics Driven environment. At least one with success in developing new business in a multi‐call, multi‐decision maker environment.
Prior success marketing to and closing top level decision makers at small/medium sized businesses and cultivating mutually beneficial long-term relationships.
Working knowledge of current Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office Suite, and any Contact Management Application (Salesforce).
Knowledge and familiarity with administrative and customer support department operations.
Positive attitude and an engaging businesslike approach.
The typical salary range for this position is $50,000 to $94,000. The salary is negotiable depending upon experience and location. The position is eligible for a bonus based upon achievement of performance objectives.
