Job Description
Promotes and sells the organization's products and services within Portland area, product range, or list of new and existing customer accounts to achieve significant sales targets. Develop revenue generation through the creation of sales leads, initiation of prospect calls, and establishment of ongoing rapport with existing and potential customers. Accountable for increasing sales/client ratio and expanding customer base. Owns a record of sales achievement.
Responsibilities:
Pursue sales leads; visit existing and new customers who may be of strategic importance to the organization.
Assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products and services.
Respond to more complex customer inquiries; negotiate prices and delivery times within limits of authority, and conclude sales orders to meet revenue targets.
Identify, research, and contact prospective customers and build positive relationships to generate future sales and repeat business.
Refer sales leads, customer feedback, and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts within the organization so they can respond to changing market conditions and customer demands.
Develop long-term sales plans for key customers, monitor, and adapt sales activities to meet objectives.
Establish annual, quarterly, monthly, or weekly sales plans and prioritize and schedule your own activities so these targets are met.
Coach and mentor less experienced sales representatives to achieve their sales targets.
Recommend to clients additional solutions and services the company provides, highlighting the advantages of the product or service, utilizing internal tools and resources as needed.
Partners with internal resources to execute targeted deliverables within a timely manner.
Provide extraordinary internal and external customer service throughout the sales process.
Forecast accurately and maintain the system of record in Salesforce.com.
Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to function of work 3 years of relevant work experience in sales.
Ability to present to C-Level and Senior Management Executives, excellent written & verbal communication skills required.
Must be able consistently to identify critical elements, variables, and alternatives to develop solutions.
Must be able to organize/prioritize existing resources and incorporate new information, as needed, to implement the most effective solutions.
Able to communicate with people from all levels of the organization or with those who may be associated with the organization in order to negotiate outcomes, convey information or system requirements, and/or offer up solutions to problems.
Actively participate in relevant job skills training and development activities.
Desire to be a continuous learner of RRD's products & services.
Clear knowledge of the selling cycle with the ability to make cold calls on a daily basis.

$50,000 - $150,000 per year; after this period, the draw may change or decrease over time. This is a

A Recycling Representative's role is to evaluate a supplier's recycling needs and offers, through consultative sales techniques, recommendations to fulfill those needs in order to generate and maintain profitability to achieve unit objectives and business goals. Executing business development activities through all phases of the sales process including prospect development, cold calling, submitting proposals, and actively competing for recovered fiber from commercial, manufacturing, and industrial business that generate recyclable materials is a primary function of this role. Some examples of these include printers, distribution centers, and manufacturing businesses. The position requires an individual that is self-motivated and capable of selling a service rather than a product and acquiring new customers that are profitable while meeting their recycling demands.
The Job You Will Perform:
* Develops and secures profitable recyclable material supply for the plant
* Understands plant costs and applies that knowledge through the use of account profitability analysis tools
* Understands the plant's capabilities and sources fiber accordingly, using professional selling skills to acquire new business
* Develops and executes an effective prospecting and fiber procurement plan
* Monitors recycling market pricing and adjusts existing supplier pricing as needed to maintain satisfactory margin
* Acts as a liaison between the supplier and the plant to ensure timely, accurate information flow between the two in order to maintain a positive long term relationship
* Develops a clear understanding of supplier's business and critical requirements through frequent visits to supplier's facilities.
* Handles supplier complaints promptly and effectively
* Practices effective time and territory management
* Functions effectively as a member of the plant fiber sourcing team
* Interfaces effectively with other departments and maintains open lines of communication with stakeholders
* Owns the account and all that the account entails
* Understands buy sell margins and overall margin management

* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Four-year college degree in business with emphasis in marketing or business administration (preferred)
* Minimum two years' successful direct outside sales or fiber sourcing experience
* Familiarity with the recycled fiber industry and/or pulp and paper industry

Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets as well as implementing cost control measures related to maintenance operations budget and location P&L statement to meet short- and long-term financial goals. Work with vendor sourcing group to identify potential and preferred vendors for specific facilities and vehicle maintenance services. Prioritize and approve shop tooling and equipment requirements based on needs and scope. Management and oversight of vehicle specifications and vehicle in-service/out-service process. Quality Management: Performs complex quality planning by developing corrective action and counter measures to operational quality issues. Responsible for all Mandatory Compliance items at the Shop Level as identified on the Quality Review inspection list. Accountable for all Quality Metrics within the Shop. Lead breakdown root cause analysis, implement corrective actions locally, and when necessary, communicate issues to Technical Assistance Center. Develop and ensure implementation of Quality Assurance Audit Corrective Action plans and Continuous Improvement programs. Responsible for ensuring a safe workplace and providing guidance for all safety efforts and initiatives. Ensure Cleanliness and quality of repair for all maintained vehicles. The Manager Solutions Design is aligned by either industry verticals or by design discipline and helps lead the new business pursuit team and individual opportunities. The Manager resource may provide direction to various subject matter experts (SMEs) or act as an independent team member to help successfully lead the pursuit from start to finish throughout the various stages of the opportunity all the way through successful transition during startup.
Key activities include:
Manage a sub-set of project team members or act an independent contributor, specializing in select design discipline (transportation, warehousing or network design) or industry solutions (e.g., packaging, inbound to manufacturing, integrated transportation, temp controlled)
Mentor & advise a sub-set of SD team members on modeling and design techniques to create, re-design, or optimize logistics networks
Act as a specific solution design specialist, usually more (but not required) than one discipline
Effectively communicate the design and solution to internal stake holders & the client
Use advance analytical techniques and concepts to understand the business
Essential Functions
+ Project Management - leading cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of solution development with win strategy.
+ Maintain effective communication across all team members as the solution develops
+ Meet frequently with customers and cross-functional bid response team. Support technical review presentations and design validation meetings
+ Calculating labor, equipment, facility and expense requirements based on transportation and warehousing design assumptions. Develop process flows, concept of operations and value propositions consistent with the win strategy and work with IT to develop concept of systems. Coordinate with Pricing and other functions to develop cost and pricing models as well as relevant assumptions
+ Develop Proposal - clearly articulate value propositions, Ryder's differentiated value, and proposed solution.
+ Collaborate with Sales leader to develop win strategy (e.g. research industry and customer to understand pain points and Ryder solutions to alleviate, understand competitive landscape to position Ryder to win, stakeholder analysis)
+ Data validation, cleansing, profiling, baseline development & defining scenarios to model
+ Develop optimizations scenarios and strategies that are aligned with objectives
+ Develop and improve engineering tools and methodologies to ensure industry best practices
+ Utilize a consultative approach to projects that involves understanding customers' pain-points developing and presenting solutions
+ Implementation follow-up, which requires engineer to validate and modify deployed process to ensure that it matches plan

**Pay Range: $63,700 - $84,900** _*Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. This job is eligible to participate in our Sales Incentive Plan._
**A Recycling Representative's role is to evaluate a supplier's recycling needs and offers, through consultative sales techniques, recommendations to fulfill those needs in order to generate and maintain profitability to achieve unit objectives and business goals.** Executing business development activities through all phases of the sales process including prospect development, cold calling, submitting proposals, and actively competing for recovered fiber from commercial, manufacturing, and industrial business that generate recyclable materials is a primary function of this role. Some examples of these include printers, distribution centers, and manufacturing businesses. **The position requires an individual that is self-motivated and capable of selling a service rather than a product and acquiring new customers that are profitable while meeting their recycling demands.**
**The Job You Will Perform:**
+ Develops and secures profitable recyclable material supply for the plant
+ Understands plant costs and applies that knowledge through the use of account profitability analysis tools
+ Understands the plant's capabilities and sources fiber accordingly, using professional selling skills to acquire new business
+ Develops and executes an effective prospecting and fiber procurement plan
+ Monitors recycling market pricing and adjusts existing supplier pricing as needed to maintain satisfactory margin
+ Acts as a liaison between the supplier and the plant to ensure timely, accurate information flow between the two in order to maintain a positive long term relationship
+ Develops a clear understanding of supplier's business and critical requirements through frequent visits to supplier's facilities.
+ Handles supplier complaints promptly and effectively
+ Practices effective time and territory management
+ Functions effectively as a member of the plant fiber sourcing team
+ Interfaces effectively with other departments and maintains open lines of communication with stakeholders
+ Owns the account and all that the account entails
+ Understands buy sell margins and overall margin management
**The Skills You Will Bring:**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Four-year college degree in business with emphasis in marketing or business administration (preferred)
+ Minimum two years' successful direct outside sales or fiber sourcing experience
+ Familiarity with the recycled fiber industry and/or pulp and paper industry
+ Fiber sourcing, sales and/or marketing experience in wastepaper recycling
+ Interest in general management as a potential career path
+ Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities
+ Effective oral and written communication skills
+ Demonstrated customer/supplier focus with the ability to listen, understand and analyze the needs of customers/suppliers
+ Ability to recognize changes in market conditions and adapt marketing strategies accordingly
+ Strong people skills, with the ability to work with a variety of personalities from diverse backgrounds
+ Basic financial skills in managing gross margin and basics of account profit abilities in relation to a facility's P&L
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel computer applications
+ Ability to relocate (Relocation is available for this position)
