Develop conceptual and artistic renderings of boats and crafts in accordance with acceptable commercial standards. Creating a preliminary and sketches of proposed drawing, utilizing CAD programs Modifying drawings as directed Using AutoCAD software in the regeneration of engineering drawings. Develops and prepares technical drawings for structural, mechanical, or electrical equipment, systems, and assemblies. Eye for detail in depicting and deciphering existing drawings that have been damage through years of use. Completes project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule. Participates in project meetings and conference calls as required. Prepares engineering documents for submittal. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, managers, designers and engineers. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such of basic algebra and geometry. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Occasionally, will conduct or participate in a field trip to an operating plant or construction site. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required. WORK ENVIRONMENT Normal work environment will be a business office with moderate noise. Occasionally, may visit or be temporarily assigned to an operating plant or to reside in an office on-site for the duration of a project. TAI is GSA listed to provide engineering services and vessels to the US Government and we are a prime contractor on NAVSEA's SeaPort NxG program. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES N/A EDUCATION Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in related engineering specialty from an accredited college or university QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 5+ years for Junior, and 10+ years for Senior level position. The ideal candidate should possess a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering with knowledge in electrical distribution system design development, arrangements, component selection, tradeoff analysis, electrical load analysis, ArcFlash hazard analysis, coordination studies, FMEA and design integration is preferred. Experience related to marine vessels such as oceangoing vessels, patrol vessels, offshore support vessels, research vessels, tugs, and barges is a plus, but is not mandatory. Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must in addition to familiarity with IEC, NEC, IEEE, ABS, CFR, USCG, SOLAS, IMO and other applicable regulations is preferred. Experience with AutoCAD, EZpower, ETAP, MATLAB software is a plus. The ability to multitask and work within a fast-paced environment is imperative. Willing to travel occasionally as needed. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Independently performs work that requires conventional engineering but may also perform more complex engineering work with higher-level technical supervision. Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope. Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements. Work requires a broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and a good knowledge of and practices of related specialties carried out by others. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before clients or employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Occasionally, will conduct or participate in a field trip to an operating plant or construction site. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required. WORK ENVIRONMENT Normal work environment will be a business office with moderate noise. Occasionally, may visit or be temporarily assigned to an operating plant or to reside in an office on-site for the duration of a project. This may require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, and work near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals and airborne particles.
