ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide guests with proactive visibility that will enhance their entertainment experience and give guests directions Provide general security to include venue patrols, backstage entry control, watch for and address issues related to alcohol consumption Watch for and address breaches of security, crowd management issues, persons in unauthorized areas and safety hazards Provide efficient screening of guests entering the venue for prohibited items using bag checks while utilizing walk-through metal detectors and wand devices Provide escorts and security for entertainers, their facilities and cordoned areas Respond to incidents of medical emergencies, fire, bomb threats, active shooter, severe weather and disorderly conduct KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge and Certification Required: High School Diploma/GED Preferred: 1-year experience and/or training in law enforcement, security, military or related field Prior event security work or equivalent experience Skills Required: Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills Accurate and detail-oriented Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities Abilities Required: Ability to interact with entertainers, event staff, guests, coworkers and management in a professional manner Ability to effectively deal with intoxicated and disorderly persons in a professional manner Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene Ability to work in extreme weather conditions REQUIRED TRAINING Treasure Island guest service training TIPS training and certification CPR/First Aid training Additional on-the-job training will be provided Any position-related training as determined by department manager PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to sit, walk or stand and exert fast-paced mobility Must be able to perform security, first aid, safety and control verification functions including the physical force required to control suspects and protect physical assets Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend, kneel and stoop Must be able to reach and twist routinely Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely Must infrequently be able to climb Must have the ability to independently lift up to 25+ pounds occasionally Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions Must have good eye hand coordination WORKING ENVIRONMENT Work is performed inside the event center and surrounding exterior areas and may include flashing lights, frequent loud noises, cigarette smoke and extreme weather conditions Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including long hours, weekends and holidays Must deal with angry or hostile individuals High volume direct public contact
