DUTIES:
Conducts foot patrols of assigned buildings and parking lots, responds to emergency security and medical calls, and investigates citizen and courthouse personnel complaints.
Maintains courtroom security while in session, including searching suspects/arrestees and facilities, seizing weapons and/or contraband.

I. JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DIFFICULTY OF WORK:
High School Diploma or GED, law enforcement experience preferred.
Ability to pass polygraph examination.
Ability to meet all departmental hiring and retention requirements, including not posing a direct threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace.
Ability to qualify by obtaining a passing score in the Handgun Course of Fire, as required by the standards of the Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board.

Incumbent performs duties primarily in an office environment and a courtroom involving sitting for long periods, bending, carrying objects, reaching, far vision, and hearing sounds/communication. Incumbent is exposed to irate/violent individuals. No prolonged, extreme physical demands are associated with normal duties, but incumbent may exert strenuous physical effort during emergency situations. Week Night/2nd Shift - Tuesday thru Friday - 7:00 pm - 5:30 am (4 10-Hour Days) - Off Days are Sat, Sun, Mon
What you'll do on a typical day:
* Proactively analyze leading indicators to create, influence, drive, and deliver results on loss prevention performance within the facility
* Engage, coach, train, and influence loss prevention agents to be an extension of GXO Loss Prevention Department by equipping them with knowledge to identify leading indicators of Loss Prevention risk and educate them on the appropriate escalation path
* Enhance, track, and report on key Loss Prevention goals and metrics
* Investigate workplace violence incidents working in conjunction with Loss Prevention Supervisor and GXO Corporate Security Manager
* Ensure all loss prevention team members understand GXO Global Security Operations, and Loss Prevention vision and values in order to align performance
* Ensure internal controls are adhered to per GXO security standards
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
* 2+ years of Loss Prevention or Security experience.
* Knowledge and experience with security systems.
* 10%-20% travel may be required.
It'd be great if you also have:
* Availability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights and/or weekends
* Strong analytical skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
* 1 year of experience as a supervisor
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* This job requires the ability to:
* Stand, sit or walk for long periods of time
* Tolerate weather elements, including heat, cold, rain, snow and wind

Job Responsibilities * Respond to calls for assistance from staff, patients, or hospital visitors in a prompt and professional fashion. * Utilize appropriate restraint according to the incident with patients and visitors as needed. * Escort staff and hospital visitors to their car when requested.
* Performs proactive surveillance monitoring of the hospital campus, especially to defined sensitive areas, and responds timely to potential/actual security threats.
* Investigate and respond with appropriate action, and document incidents that occur on the hospital campus related to the security of patients, visitors, staff and personal property and provides a verbal report, as required, to the appropriate personnel.
* Respond to all code situations as they arise on the hospital campus.
* Direct and maintain control of traffic as needed on the hospital campus including managing compliance with hospital parking policy.
* Provide follow-up with local prosecution, law enforcement and court systems as applicable and cooperate with local/federal law enforcement agencies in detaining persons known or thought to be in violation hospital policy and/or local/state/federal law.
* Use arrest authority, as needed, for both felonies and misdemeanors under applicable law.

* Preferred: Two (2) Years Minimum Public Safety Experience or Police Officer in good standing or Special Deputy status with arrest authority for both felonies and misdemeanor.

* BLS Through the American Heart Association
