The coordinator enforces conduct policies, monitors alarm systems, security cameras, and other related systems, and serves as a resource and authority to the student security workforce. This position also monitors building maintenance and projects through the Facilities Management Division (FMD) and other outside contractors, may place work requests for building issues, prepare areas for renovation and/or relocation, and assist with the coordination of special events and projects as they arise, as well as various administrative tasks in support of the building operations. The standard work schedule for this position includes Thursday 4pm-2am, Friday 11:30am-9:30pm, Saturday 9:30am-7:30pm, Sunday 11am-9pm. This schedule will be modified as necessary to ensure coverage and accommodate changes in building hours between semesters. Duties/Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities * Coordinates the operations of the student security workforce for the Main and Science Libraries in partnership with the Assistant Facilities and Security Manager. * Communicates with all student employees regarding issues and changes that they need to be aware of. * Enforces procedures and policies to promote a secure environment for all areas within both Libraries buildings that are open to the public. Percentage of time 25 Duties/Responsibilities * Assists the Facilities Director and Main Security Lead in all areas of renovation and relocation projects through the Libraries facilities by moving furniture, surplusing items, prepping areas, and arranging alternative spaces during these processes. Percentage of time 15 Duties/Responsibilities * Works with the Security Lead to assist with hiring and supervising student security assistants for the Main and Science Libraries. Prepares and updates training manual and procedures as needed. * Addresses issues in performance of procedures as problems arise. Percentage of time 15 Duties/Responsibilities * Works closely with security and facilities colleagues in other Library buildings (the McBay Science Library, Miller Learning Center and Special collections Library), serving as a resource and providing assistance when needed. Percentage of time 10 Duties/Responsibilities * Assists in monitoring the maintenance of the furniture, utilities, computers, and signage of the facilities and helps to resolve problems concerning facility usage, operations, equipment malfunction, etc., by assisting the building custodial staff, Facilities Management Division personnel, off-campus vendors or maintenance personnel. Percentage of time 10 Duties/Responsibilities * Maintains security staffing schedule and alterations to ensure that students are aware of any scheduling changes. * Employee is also available to work shifts in the event that no one is able to meet schedule requirements. * Non-business hours may also need to be worked in case of special circumstances.
