Responsible for developing and creating schematics and layouts of control panels using EPLAN software for various types of HVAC equipment-including conceptual designs and parametric modeling. May coach and mentor less experienced team members. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Develops models and drawings including conceptual designs, parametric modeling and new technologies using computer design software (CAD). * Collaborates with other designers and engineers to ensure that the electrical system designs integrate seamlessly with other systems. * Collaborates with engineers, management, and other creative departments to determine design solutions. * Provides support to production team during prototypes and production launch to facilitate seamless releases and is trusted as a point person or go to for manufacturing issues. * Seeks ways to implement new ideas and technologies. * Collaborates with the Design Engineering team to develop design standards. * Confers with engineering management to complete assigned projects. * Provides complete bills of material by defining when, where, and why specific parts are used. * Understands safety standards including but not limited to UL, CE, NEC, IBC, and NFPA * Maintains and builds professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops * Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design specifications, change logs, and version control, ensuring all records are up-to-date and easily accessible Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements: A two-year technical degree is preferred, and 5 years' experience in the HVAC industry or equivalent experience in a similar industry. POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Operations Engineer provides technical support and engineering expertise for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of pipelines, compressor stations, measurement & regulation (M&R) facilities, and related midstream assets. As a field-based member of the operations engineering team, the Operations Engineer functions as the first-line technical support-supporting day-to-day operations, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and process safety requirements. This role collaborates closely with Field Operations, Engineering & Construction, and other Asset Performance & Innovation groups to drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and the successful execution of asset management initiatives. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE: 2+ years of engineering experience in the energy, utilities, or industrial sector (midstream oil & gas preferred). Working knowledge of pipeline, compressor station, and/or M&R facility operations. Familiarity with process safety management (PSM), management of change (MOC), and regulatory compliance requirements. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency with relevant engineering software and digital tools. Willingness to travel to field locations as required (up to 40% of the time). Valid driver's license and clean driving record. PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE: Experience supporting field operations in an owner's engineer capacity. Experience with digital transformation, automation, or data analytics in field operations. Knowledge of asset integrity, measurement, automation, or compression systems. Advanced proficiency in technical writing and documentation. Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure. REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
