Position Summary:
Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking an MS Technical Support Scientist to join our team and provide expert technical support for our LC-MS products. In this role, you'll support our sales teams by conducting product demonstrations, installations, training, and post-sales assistance to ensure our customers maximize the value of their instrumentation. JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Provide technical expertise during sales calls and product demonstrations.
Conduct training sessions for customers and regional personnel.
Run customer samples and develop application notes to showcase Shimadzu's LC-MS capabilities.
Assist customers with adapting their analytical methodologies for our MS products.
Oversee the regional MS demonstration inventory.
Frequent travel to customer sites and regional offices (20%-50% overnight travel).
Support and collaborate with regional teams and assist with training new technical support specialists.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field (MS or PhD preferred).
At least 1 year of laboratory experience with LC-MS instrumentation.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, ability to interpret analytical data, and excellent customer relations.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This exempt, full-time position comes with a competitive salary range of $95,000 to $97,500 annually, paid semi-monthly. Eligible benefits include a 401K matching program and discretionary yearly contributions, with detailed information provided at the final interview stage.
In your first year, you will receive 10 paid vacation days, 8 paid personal days (or state sick leave in California/Puerto Rico), 8 scheduled holidays, and 3 floating holidays. After one year, you'll have access to a generous short-term disability program, with premiums fully covered by the company. Employees are insured at 100% of their salary for the first 6 weeks and 66 2/3% for weeks 7 to 12.
Additional variable compensation includes an incentive plan based on performance goals, paid semi-annually in April and October, along with a potential discretionary year-end bonus. The offer also includes a company car (with a $55 deduction for personal use) and a company phone, fully funded by the employer, which remains company property but can be used for personal calls.

Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a highly skilled and creative Research Scientist to lead Organ Biofabrication for the LIVE project, a multi-institutional initiative focused on developing transplantable bioprinted liver constructs. This encompasses the full pipeline of organ biofabrication-from computational design and advanced bioprinting to bioreactor maturation and in vivo validation. The LIVE project represents a bold and collaborative effort to overcome the most critical barriers in organ biofabrication and regenerative medicine. As part of the ARPA-H PRINT program, our goal is to develop a fully functional, immunocompetent, bioprinted human liver construct capable of clinical transplantation. Biofabrication is the heart of this mission, where computational design, advanced bioprinting, bioink formulation, bioreactor maturation, and in vivo validation converge to create a viable therapeutic organ.

Responsibilities:
The Research Scientist will be responsible for technical management of this complex and multidisciplinary effort. This role is not only technical-it is strategic, collaborative, and deeply translational. The successful candidate will guide the development of novel software tools for organ blueprint generation and robotic print pathing, oversee the construction and operation of multi-modal bioprinting platforms, and lead the design of bioreactors capable of sustaining organ maturation for up to 30 days. In addition to technical execution, this role demands leadership in mentoring and team development. The Research Scientist will supervise and support graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and technical staff across multiple institutions, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and scientific rigor. They will serve as a key liaison between CMU and partner organizations including the University of Washington, Mayo Clinic, FluidForm Bio, and the University of Pittsburgh, ensuring seamless integration of efforts across computational modeling, fabrication, and preclinical testing. The program culminates in the in vivo validation of bioprinted liver constructs in rodent and porcine models, including IND-enabling studies. The Research Scientist will play a central role in coordinating these studies, analyzing outcomes, and preparing regulatory documentation in collaboration with clinical and regulatory teams.

Qualifications:

Purpose
The Scientist has a background in Synthetic Biology, Immunology, and Molecular biology to join our newly established group developing novel T cell products for adoptive cell-based immunotherapy of cancer. The position's primary role is in developing approaches to engineer T cell receptors in autologous or allogeneic primary human T cells. Duties and Responsibilities
Establish methodologies for T cell gene modification and associated functional assays.
Responsible for establishing efficient T cell receptor expression platforms in primary T cells using recombinant lentiviruses and CRISPR/ Cas9 technology
Responsible for generation of high-titer recombinant lentiviruses, quality control of the lentiviral preparations, and generation of associated reagents
Responsible for T cell immunology, including isolation, modification, expansion, and analysis of autologous and cryopreserved allogeneic primary T cell populations.
Maintain accurate sample and laboratory records. Document activities in electronic notebook system, develop IP, publish and present in conferences
Work closely with our development team to advance technology platforms and TCR candidates.
Develop data packages and reports for internal corporate activities and regulatory submissions

Qualifications and Work Experience
Ph.D. in Immunology, Oncology, Molecular Biology, or related field with five years of postgraduate experience
Mammalian Cell Culture: immortalized and primary adherent, and non-adherent cells
T cell biology: Isolation and in vitro maintenance of PBMC, including CD4+ and CD8+ primary T cells. T cell activation, gene modification, and expansion for downstream functional assays, including TCR-dextramer binding, activation assays (proliferation, cell-based killing assays, analysis of cytokine secretion, etc.)
Flow Cytometry: Strong background in multi-color flow cytometry [4 channel flow cytometry analysis preferred] of primary human immune cells and cell lines
