Overview
The Field Service Electrician is responsible for providing our customers with on-site
electrical services and support.
Equipment/Machinery Used
Service truck, Forklift, Lull, Boom Lifts, Scissor lifts.
Essential Functions
Install various size breakers in generator cabinets, meeting code standards.
Installing and wiring various transformer, disconnects, load centers and other electrical equipment.
Measuring and bending various sized conduit.
Pulling wire and terminating GFCI receptacles and 3-way light switches.
Quality fabrication skills.
Terminate wiring in various junction boxes with the understanding of color coding and wire labeling.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years electrical experience preferred.
Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and communication skills.
Required Qualifications/Training
Understand high and medium voltage generators.
Knowledge of low voltage and high voltage electrical systems.
Knowledge of various conduit installations, EMT, Rigid, flex, etc.
Know correct code requirements for wire sizing
Ability to Interpret specifications, blueprints, and work instructions.

Make periodic inspection for new electrical services (120v, 240v and 480v three phase), including wiring, conduit, panels, breakers, contractors, relays, timers and controls

Operates a variety of standard power tools, equipment and trenchers in electrical installations, maintenance and repair activities on a regular basis

The electrician will be responsible for keeping up to date one-line diagrams, and panel labeling. The Electrician will work closely with contractors performing large scale projects to ensure compliance and understanding of system being installed.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Keep generator, lighting, and electrical systems in working order. Diagnose problems and then repair/replace defective parts.
* Need to act quickly when a breakdown occurs, must be able to tell management whether the problem can be corrected and whether business can continue as usual. If regular activities must be stopped, the electrician will have to estimate how long a shutdown will last.
* Make periodic inspection for new electrical services (120v, 240v and 480v three phase), including wiring, conduit, panels, breakers, contractors, relays, timers and controls
* Performs electrical maintenance and repair work; install/replace fixtures, switches, receptacles and wiring.
* Operates a variety of standard power tools, equipment and trenchers in electrical installations, maintenance and repair activities on a regular basis
* Maintains records and logs as needed
* Keep up to date documentation.
* Log work into a CMMS system to ensure equipment maintenance work is recorded
* Perform other various tasks as instructed by management. Must work in a safe manner on a daily basis and ensure that all safety measures are taken at all times.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
* Flexibility to work overtime, on-call and weekends, as required
* Experience troubleshooting and maintaining various components and systems including 12 to 24V control systems
* Computer literate using Microsoft office and Outlook email
