SUMMARY: The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for order filing, receiving inventory, preparing, and shipping orders, and miscellaneous duties as assigned ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Personally exhibits, recruits and coaches associate consistent with Core Behaviors Responsible for promoting culture of safety Receive and verify incoming shipments against packing slips Accurately sort, maintain, and stage product Reject damaged goods and forward to Purchasing for processing Put away stock ensuring proper labeling and placement Receive purchase orders, pick product and package for shipping Check items to be shipped against picking ticket to assure quantities, destinations and routing are correct Log non-conforming product and verify returned goods Responsible for cycle count of inventory and to work with the Purchasing department to correct discrepancies Maintain accurate records and a clean and organized workspace Technical responsibilities include performing hands-on tasks, primarily using trade or computer hardware and software, including spreadsheets, data bases, and data processing Perform other duties as assigned Perform all work in accordance with ISO processes and procedures QUALIFICATIONS: Must be proficient with basic computer operation and knowledgeable about position (P21, Clippership, World Ship) Proficient knowledge of basic mathematical skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent customer service skills Must be punctual and act with a sense of urgency Must be proficient at following ISO procedures Basic product knowledge SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No direct supervisory responsibility EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED required year of previous experience required Up to 2 years of experience in a similar position preferred, including inventory and receiving experience CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Forklift Certified WORK ENVIRONMENT: Employee is regularly required to speak and understand English, stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. The Shipping Associate, 1st Shift position, is responsible for efficiently and accurately receiving, storing, and processing incoming shipments. This role includes the timely distribution of materials, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse, while ensuring the accuracy and safety of all related tasks. The Shipping Associate, 1st Shift provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers and demonstrates strict confidentiality with all team members while serving as an ambassador of our culture. Essential Functions: Accurately picks, packs, and loads customer orders onto delivery vehicles. Demonstrates company core values and best practices. Exemplifies dedication to customer satisfaction with a superior experience. Assists team members with daily problem resolution. Prepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain those quantities, destination, and routing are correct. Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped. Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies shipping supervisor. Delivers items to the loading dock and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items. May operate dolly, pallet jack, crane, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink wrap machine. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, and continuous quality improvement objectives. Adhere to all company safety rules, standards, and guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Must possess strong mathematical aptitude. Must be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively. Able to communicate in English with regard to the essential functions of the position Required Experience and Education: High School Diploma or GED required. One year of prior warehouse experience. Prior forklift experience preferred. Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull objects up 50 pounds. Requires visual, hearing and speech acuity. Exposure to extreme temperatures and elements, noise, and fumes. Ability to use hands to operate office equipment.
