DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Review daily orders and identify rush shipments which must be given priority Verify that the item(s) being shipped matches its label and meets the specifications required by the shipping order for size, style, quantity, etc. Prepare items for shipment by building the correct size box and utilizing the appropriate packing materials Inspect the condition of the product and ensure the item to be shipped is not damaged Report any damaged items to management immediately upon discovery Generate Bills of Lading for shipments Package and label the item to prepare it for shipment Complete the appropriate documentation for all items shipped by recording identifying information of the product and transport information in the shipping records Move products within the facility by carrying, pushing, rolling, or operating hand trucks or other material handling equipment. Assist with loading shipments onto trucks Confirm that drivers depart with the appropriate paperwork Ensure that shipping stations are in working order and always stocked with appropriate materials. Notify management when a replenishment order is required Make safety a priority consideration with all actions taken.
