* A formal education in desired/related field (at least a 2-year training program) is strongly preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Merchandise Planner is responsible for driving category profitability through strategic inventory planning, assortment optimization, and data-driven financial analysis across store and eCommerce channels. This role partners closely with Merchandising and cross-functional teams to develop and execute financial plans that support sales, margin, inventory productivity, GMROI, and turnover objectives. The Merchandise Planner delivers actionable insights through detailed reporting, open-to-buy management, and line review analysis, while ensuring optimal in-stock levels at the store and SKU level. Success in this role requires strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to influence decision-making in a fast-paced, collaborative retail environment.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSTENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maximize profitability through SKU rationalization and quantify impact on business. Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis of weekly business review. Manage in stock levels for all SKUs in stores and/or eCommerce within specified categories.
Build strategic plan and execute to help define the vision of assigned categories. Partner with team members to develop and execute financial plans consisting of sales, margin, inventory, GMROI, and turn.
Present open to buy and line review financials to senior management. Develop detailed analysis with recommended actions, risks, and opportunities.
Ensure optimum inventory levels and in stocks at store level. Actively use all related systems (i.e. Business Objects, ZPS, MFP, RMS, Tableau, COR Maintenance, etc.).
Develop cross functional partnerships with Merchandising and Merch Systems, Store Operations, Marketing and Distribution for projects and strategic analysis that align with financial objectives.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business, or related area Preferred
Required or Acceptable Job-Related Experience: Experience in Retail or Product management.
Advanced analytics skills identifying trends and issues and ability to determine root cause. Knowledge with managing budgets and sales volume. Experience building and managing productive assortment.
