DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES * Reviewing and Editing KA Math/Science Telugu content and/or creating and localizing new content (text) as needed; keeping quality metrics in mind (Contextualisation, cohesion, rigor, clarity, pedagogical approach, etc.) * Collect on-ground feedback on content by interacting with state teachers and incorporating the feedback into the content. * Localizing Maths/Science text from English to Telugu. * Going through Telugu Math textbooks to highlight any modifications needed before localisation. * Reading through original material, reviewing it and rewriting it the target language in case needed, ensuring that the meaning of the source text is retained. * Along with State Board and NCERT Books using specialist dictionaries, thesauruses and reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminology and words used. * Researching on relevant phraseology to find the correct translation. * Proofreading and editing final translated versions on the basis of the basic quality parameters (Meaning, Readability, Compliance, Terminology, Consistency and Linguistics). * Retaining and developing knowledge on specialist areas of translation. * Developing glossary for the specific terminologies to be used in Khan Academy's localization process and continuously update it with new terminology. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB We are looking for a skilled Korean linguist to act as a Language Lead Backup to our main Language Lead on a key account. The role involves stepping in to handle review responsibilities whenever the main Hebrew lead is out of office (OoO) or when there's a need to share the workload.This includes performing full linguistic review and quality assurance tasks, ensuring all content meets the expected standards and client-specific guidelines. In such instances, you would act as the primary reviewer, taking over the review scope of the main lead.The ideal candidate should be available to work within PST business hours (9:00-17:00) to align with client delivery times.MAIN DUTIES Act as intermediary between the client (and third party reviewers) and Welocalize linguists. Responsible for maintaining overall quality under the 97% fail rate. Carry out daily follow up of all LQE results, passed and failed. Gather all LQE changes and share with all linguists in the account. Analyze deliverables by linguists, determine where the issues are and determine and implement actions for improvement. Support teams in the review process as/where needed in order to maintain the fail rate below 97%. Support linguists in understanding corrections, clarify with the client where needed. Support linguists in the arbitration process. Support linguists in any questions they might have during production and escalate to client/Welocalize as needed.
