The Transport Deputy will ensure that all policies and procedures for the safe transport of inmates from the Cooke County Detention Center to the Cooke County Courthouse and return are employed. The safety of the public and inmates in the deputy's custody is paramount. The Transport Deputy will assist the judges and bailiffs of the Cooke County and District Courts in maintaining the order and decorum of those inmates in custody in the courtrooms. The Transport deputy will be responsible for the physical screening of inmates in the prevention of weapons or contraband in the inmates' possession, previous to entering court, and before reentering the detention center. The Transport deputy will perform emergency first aid for inmates when applicable. The Transport deputy will be required to deliver or retrieve inmates from or to the Texas Department of Corrections, multiple cities, counties, and State facilities. The Deputy will also conduct transportation of inmates to and from medical facilities as required or directed.
