SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Parenting Partner/Mentor provides active, hands-on peer support to a caseload of parent/caregivers of children and youth receiving services in three counties (Manatee, Sarasota, and Desoto). Parenting partner/Mentor support may be delivered in individual or group settings at the agency, in family homes, or in community environments. The role of the Parenting Partner/Mentor is to provide peer support but also to work collaboratively to support systems change by increasing family involvement and decreasing unintentional, bias about parents. Provides guidance based on a combination of evidence-based/evidence-informed training and personal firsthand experience and lived expertise. Empowering and coaching parents through the process with DCF, child Welfare, the courts, and other family centered community partners is an important aspect of this work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide support and assistance to parents in meeting the physical, emotional, and educational needs of their children.
Work with and model for the entire family a positive, sensitive, non-judgmental manner of relating.
Assist the team in understanding the parent's perspective, culture, and beliefs in a way that increases understanding by others while decreasing differences and highlighting similarities.
Assess and prioritize needs of a parent regarding parenting tasks or sources of self-confidence. Some examples include:
Providing information on child development and parenting skills
Assisting a parent in acquiring practical/organizational skills (i.e., budgeting, utilizing resources.
Assist a parent in developing their own interests and personal goals
Providing information that assists the parents' understanding of their child's developmental needs, promotes positive parenting, and develops the parent/child relationship.
Teach problem solving skills to manage crises
Maintain appropriate documentation that outlines the services provided to the family.
Present workshops to parents and other groups
Serve on committees with project stakeholders, and serve as the parents' voice
Coordinate with parent resource centers and provide them with special ed information and with trainings for parents
Attends IEP and school meetings as requested by the caregivers or team members.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
The OPS Family Support Worker provides breastfeeding education and support to Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) clients in various locations throughout the county. This position will be in Naples WIC headquarters; however, may work in Immokalee on occasions. Position provides services in the WIC Program in accordance with the policies of the state WIC Program and regulations as stated in DHM 150-24. Assignment of duty station, hours and days worked may vary as needed. This position is part-time and anticipated to work 24 hours per week. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Community Health Workers Supervisor.
Educate WIC pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum mothers and family members on breastfeeding-related issues in assigned sites and by telephone; at scheduled intervals determined by the local WIC agency. Provide basic breastfeeding information and support to WIC mothers to help them to successfully establish breastfeeding, overcome common barriers to breastfeeding, and prevent and handle common breastfeeding problems or concerns. Assist in breastfeeding classes and assist in facilitating support groups. Maintain the breastfeeding warmline after hours; triage, give appointments and/or counsel as appropriate.
Document breastfeeding contacts in the FL-Wise system in accordance with department policy. Documentation is accurate, clear, and legible for all contacts made with WIC clients.
Manage caseload of assigned WIC clients and contact clients according to established procedures, maintaining client confidentiality. Coordinate services for clients and makes referrals to appropriate agencies as needed.
Assist the local WIC agency in outreach, promoting breastfeeding through special projects and duties as assigned. Understand WIC eligibility criteria and programmatic requirements in order to answer basic questions about WIC and make appropriate referrals.
Attend mandatory and scheduled trainings. Adhere to FDOH Collier County policies and procedures pertaining to client confidentially, and data security. Accurate and timely submission of Employee Activity Record (EARs), time records, travel logs, monthly report of activities and other reports are submitted to supervisor. Answer telephones, file and perform travel in relation to above duties and for professional development. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Responsible for provision of full-range of mental health outpatient services from initial assessment, treatment planning, supportive counseling and case management as well as aftercare planning, group psychotherapy, and crisis evaluation and support.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts mental health interviews, screenings, and evaluations and determines appropriate mental health services and treatment plans to address an inmate's specific mental health needs in accordance with the mission of the outpatient mental health program and policies.
Provides a full-range of supportive mental health services including brief individual counseling, group counseling (process or psychoeducational), and specialty group counseling (e.g., anger management, end of sentence, life term, etc.), and inmate consultations.
Provides case management services on 30 to 90 day basis to ensure continuity of ongoing service delivery.
Prepares all related mental health documentation in accordance with applicable organizational and state standards in a clear, thorough, and timely manner.
Consults with Security, Medical, Classification and other departments as needed in inmate related mental health concerns.
Responds to psychological emergencies and provides crisis intervention as required up to and including involuntary hospitalization.
Conducts post-release planning and communicate with community based mental health facilities for referral and continuity of case.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Master's degree as a mental health clinician who has full licensure status as a mental health provider under Chapter 491 (Florida Statutes).
One (1) year experience providing mental health services in an institutional setting is preferred.

Canine Behavior SpecialistThe Canine Behavior Specialist is responsible for identifying desired behaviors and developing a training plan to teach new or improved behavior based on the needs of both the pet and the pet parent. Using practical knowledge of animal behavior, training techniques, and equipment; the Canine Behavior Specialist will educate pet parents on effective methods to sustain learned behaviors and acquired skills. Train and certify other Pet Paradise employees in dog training techniques. Essential Functions of the Canine Behavior Specialist include:
Consult with customers to discuss behavioral concerns and training needs of pets and pet parents.
Develop suitable training plans, focusing on and resolving problem areas, including aggression, separation anxiety, hyperactivity, and biting.
Teach dogs to obey basic commands using various training techniques that are best suited to each dog's personality and attributes.
Educate pet parents on appropriate training methods to enforce and maintain behaviors and skills learned during training sessions.
Examine the progress of each dog and provide regular progress updates to pet parents.
Promote, demonstrate, and offer dog training programs to pet parents.
Answer customer questions regarding training, behavioral issues, and pricing for training services.
Travel throughout Pet Paradise locations training other employees on dog training techniques.
Contact customers to schedule training appointments and verify bookings.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
Two years industry related experience and/or training.
Pet Trainer Certification required.
Ability to travel as needed (Up to 20% of travel across resort locations/regions).
Advanced knowledge of dog training techniques as well as animal behavior and body language.
Sound knowledge of various dog training techniques and demonstrate excellent communication, dog handling, and problem-solving skills.
Able to handle a variety of dogs (sizes and breeds) safely and comfortably.
Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills: A general understanding of Microsoft Office and Windows is preferred, but not required. Summary
Responsible for provision of full-range of mental health outpatient services from initial assessment, treatment planning, supportive counseling and case management as well as aftercare planning, group psychotherapy, and crisis evaluation and support.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts mental health interviews, screenings, and evaluations and determines appropriate mental health services and treatment plans to address an inmate's specific mental health needs in accordance with the mission of the outpatient mental health program and policies.
Provides a full-range of supportive mental health services including brief individual counseling, group counseling (process or psycho-educational), and specialty group counseling (e.g., anger management, end of sentence, life term, etc.), and inmate consultations.
Provides case management services on 30 to 90 day basis to ensure continuity of ongoing service delivery.
Prepares all related mental health documentation in accordance with applicable organizational and state standards in a clear, thorough, and timely manner.
Consults with Security, Medical, Classification and other departments as needed in inmate related mental health concerns.
Responds to psychological emergencies and provides crisis intervention as required up to and including involuntary hospitalization.
Conducts post-release planning and communicate with community based mental health facilities for referral and continuity of case.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Master's degreed as a mental health clinician who has full licensure or provisional licensure.
One (1) year experience providing mental health services in an institutional setting is preferred.
Ability to work in crisis situations in a professional and mature manner.
Strong counseling and motivational skills.
Must be able to work individual and in a team environment.
Above average verbal and writing skills.
Must be able to develop clear and concise reports in a timely manner.
Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
