SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Program Director or Clinical Supervisor, the Specialist IV is responsible for the implementation of clinical therapeutic services; this position is responsible for linking the assessment, design, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic interventions with the purpose of achieving successful case outcome. Provision of on-call crisis response with 24/7 availability.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

The Family Counselor will be responsible for developing the program for mental health therapy. This position provides compassionate, ethical, and culturally competent mental health services to children and their families. The family counselor is responsible for developmentally appropriate assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders and life challenges of children. Holding sessions for individual and group mental health therapy will be a key component for the Family Counselor.
This position will work closely with the Clinical Director for Early Intervention as well as providing IECS services in regard to general family counseling and behavior counseling. They will develop the process from referral to discharge and conduct credentialing for all medical providers. They will develop and implement a plan for outreach and information about services. The family counselor utilizes interactive, play-based interventions with regular caregiver involvement in the child s mental health care. The family counselor should demonstrate knowledge in the treatment of childhood trauma, emotional dysregulation, and child behavioral concerns. The family counselor should demonstrate understanding of caregiver-child relationships and how to effectively incorporate these foundational relationships into the child s mental health treatment. The family counselor is also responsible for all documentation, including intake and consent forms, diagnostic assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge documents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Hold Individual/Group therapy sessions for clients/families.
Implement Adverse Childhood Experience s (ACE s) screeners to put into programs by determining a process for all services within the agency (with director approval).

Works in conjunction with Play IMUA with referrals/assessments/services.
Create and maintain tracking system/folders/filing.
Provides direct and consultative therapeutic services to children enrolled in IMUA programs according to policies and procedures and individual plans.

Engage in evidence-based, developmentally appropriate counseling interventions to address individual needs of the child as well as needs of the family.

Collaborate with other professionals to provide continuity of care.
Provide referrals to outside resources/additional services as needed.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Pathway of Hope (POH) initiative of The Salvation Army aims to provide strengths -based intensive case management services to families who desire to take action to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty and move from crisis to self-sufficiency.
The Maui Recovery Pathway of Hope Case Manager (Case Manager) will provide ongoing support and expertise through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and overall evaluation of clients' needs utilizing the strengths-based perspective and motivational interviewing. The Case Manager will assess the housing, health, financial, and psychological needs of program participants, as well as collaborate with the Salvation Army Corps and community partners for a holistic and wrap around approach that will aim to meet identified goals in the client's individualized action plan and create an environment of stability and a network of support. The Case Manager will follow through on all assigned cases.
The Case Manager is expected to keep track of case notes and case plans through the collection and reporting of client data into identified social services management system; WellSky Community Services. The Case Manager provides services according to the standards of The Salvation Army, who is culturally competent, ethical and promotes a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Represent The Salvation Army in accordance with its mission, initiatives and policies & procedures, in all EDS/Maui Recovery matters.

•Determine client eligibility for POH services and/or financial assistance available through TSA Maui County and/or Community Assistance Center.

•Support client in developing an individualized action plan and set of goals for each client.

Salary: The advertised salary is based on full-time employment and includes shortage and school year differentials, if applicable.

The Family Counselor will be responsible for developing the program for mental health therapy. Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement: Possession of a master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in behavior analysis, education, or psychology in an acceptable field of study.
Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of progressively responsible post-master's professional experience teaching, counseling and/or providing therapy to individuals with emotional behavioral, or mental health concerns and/or their families. Of the required three (3) years work experience, at least one (1) year must have included providing ABA services to individuals with disabilities. This behavior-analytic work may have been conducted independently or under the supervision of a qualified behavior analyst per requirements of the BACB or other national credentialing body approved by the State of Hawaii law.
Quality of Experience: Possession of the required number of years of experience will not in itself be accepted as proof of qualification for a position. The applicant's overall experience must have been of such scope and level of responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate that the applicant has the ability to perform the duties of the position for which the applicant is being considered.
Substitution Allowed: Possession of a doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in behavior analysis, education, or psychology may be substituted for all of the Experience Requirement.

Salary: The advertised salary is based on full-time employment and includes shortage and school year differentials, if applicable.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, the EAP Counselor IV is responsible for providing short-term counseling to employees and household members of contracted EAP companies in person and via telehealth. Counseling services includes assessment; formulation of action plan/goals; short-term, solution-focused counseling; referrals; case management; resources and follow-up. Direct communication with employer representatives is also required. May also provide direct service to EAP contracted companies, which includes workplace training, orientation sessions, open enrollment events, benefits fairs and management consultation.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Masters' Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. Requires knowledge of an advanced type.
Other (Specify): Professional License (LCSW, MFT, MHC, PH.D. or equivalent) required or obtainable within a year. May be required to obtain CISM and SAP certification and become FEI approved, if eligible.
EXPERIENCE
Over two years, up to and including four years.
Other (Specify): Knowledge of EAP and organization and management development. Experience as a direct service provider.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Experience with Employee Assistance Programs preferred.
Experience in providing chemical dependency assessment and certifiable by the State of Hawaii as a SubstanceAbuseCounselor.
Eligible as a SAP preferred.
Experience in providing training and consultation to management, including knowledge of organizational development and labor relations also preferred.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, work under moderate to high levels of stress, adapt well to change, have and use good people skills and the ability to work independently.
May require driving throughout the island and interisland travel.
OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS
This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.
Verification of licensure/certification will be required at time of appointment/hire, and continued employment is contingent on maintaining licensure/certification.
This position is subject to a criminal background investigation and continued employment is contingent on a record clear of convictions.
Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of CPR, CPI and/or van driving training as such training is necessary to ensure ability/continued ability to perform essential functions of this job.
Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of First Aid classes.
Requires contacts both inside and outside at all organizational levels. Requires considerable tact, discretion and persuasion to obtain results. May present new methods, programs, and controversial issues. Improper handling may affect operating results and the delivery of program services.
