What you will do/Day in the Life:
The primary responsibilities of a Youth Care Worker / Coach Counselor are to provide safety and around-the-clock supervision of at-risk youth. Coach Counselors provide for the physical, personal and health needs of each student through individual counseling and behavioral/social/physical and educational skill development. Coach Counselor's provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the needs of the students; monitor and document student behaviors and activities; and participate and assist with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities. You will be providing active supervision at all times to youth in our care. Medical Technician Training, EMT or other certifications a plus, as we are also looking for Coach Counselor/Medic for each shift.
To be considered you should be empathetic, patient, and treat others with respect and have a high school diploma or equivalent. You must also be at least 21 years of age, have a desire to work with troubled teens and be able to pass a DCF criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test. There is no previous experience required for this role, but previous work with youth is preferred. Excellent Training will be provided!

This position has the primary responsibility of providing the full breadth of Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counseling services to children of all ages of military service members and their families at military installations to include civilian expeditionary work force and their families (when activated). These services may include non-medical counseling, training/health and wellness presentations, consultation with parents, personnel at child development centers, and consultation to installation command regarding behavioral health issues affecting children and youth. CYB counselors will be assigned to child development centers, youth programs, summer camps, and on demand assignments. The counselors work closely with the installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to assure that the program is provided within scope and meets the needs of the installation.
Provides non-medical, short-term, solution focused counseling directly to eligible children and youth of service members at assigned primary and secondary locations. Services include assessment, brief counseling and consultation, action planning, referral to resources (assuring linkage as appropriate), and follow-up as indicated.
CYB counselors will also have a focus on supporting the staff and personnel of Child Development Centers (CDC), youth programs and summer camps (if available/assigned) as well as providing parent support, training, and guidance.
Provides training and health and wellness presentations, participate in health fairs and other base/installation activities focused on children and youth.
Enters counselor activity data daily through smart phone or web application to assure that reporting is accurate from assigned installation while maintaining confidentiality and anonymity of service/family member.
Establishes and maintains working relationships with community resources focused on children and youth and provides appropriate linkages. Consistently visible within the assigned location(s) which allows MFLC services to be accessible. When working with children, counselor must abide by line-of-sight protocol. (Another adult with responsibility for the child must be able to see the counselor and child they are working with at all times.)
Partners with POC to provide CYB services in a manner that addresses the needs of the installation/facility. Develops an effective and professional working relationship with the installation/facility POC.
Manages duty to warn and restricted reporting situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocol and staffs the cases with Regional Supervisor/Regional Director.
Communicates with Regional Supervisors and participates in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on the installations and in facilities to which the counselor is assigned. Responds to critical incidents and special requests as directed by the POC and approved by the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) program manager. The CYB will flex schedule to respond to urgent requests as needed or at the request of the Regional Supervisor/Regional Director.
Participates in regular in-services/training, Quality Improvement committees, initiatives, studies, pilot programs other contract activities as assigned/appropriate as directed by the customer and/or Magellan. This includes participation in pilot program certification and training processes, completion of activity documentation, integration of pilot activities in non-medical counseling work, and the utilization of applicable technology to complete required activities.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assists ESE teachers and acts as a classroom facilitator to assess best learning practices for teachers to use in the classroom.
* Monitors functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention programs.
* Conducts one-on-one social skills lessons with ESE students.
* Participates in a cooperative effort with faculty and staff to plan, implement and evaluate school wide ESE programs.
* Participates in Florida Department of Education required workshops and other trainings.
* Processes ESE discipline referrals and assist with PLC compliance issues.
* Maintains contact with teachers and parents in conjunction with administrative team (i.e. ESE teacher, assistant principal and principal) through teacher/parent conferences and IEP team meetings.
* Works with various agencies to develop community resources.
* Determines the appropriate methods to use in resolving student behavior problems.
* Utilizes technology and current research in technology.
* Observes and assesses teacher/student needs to promote a productive learning environment.
* Responsible for timely and accurate information they maintain as a part of their job responsibilities.
* Implement knowledge of the Response to Intervention model in both academic and behavioral structures.
* Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.

What You Need
Master s Degree in Human Services or related field and two years experience in social work, counseling or related areas preferred; or any combination of training, education and experience which would provide the required knowledge, abilities and skills to successfully perform in this role.
Active Florida LCSW, LMHC or LMFT or license eligible and pursuing completion of licensure, preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform psychosocial assessment upon assignment of case.
Provides treatment planning and oversight for the behavioral health programming associated with implementing those treatment plans on assigned caseload.
Provides individual, group, and family therapy to the youth and their families.
Maintains case records for each youth in your care.
Completes discharge summary at the youth s discharge from their program.
Administers the youth s Functional Assessment Rating Scale (Florida Version) on all children in assigned caseload and other applicable assessments deemed necessary.
Attends psychiatric appointments for the youth in your care.
Attend court hearings, judicial reviews, or other legal meetings as necessary or required.
Participates in guardian Ad Litem and or case manager meetings/staffings as needed.
Arranges home visits for the youth.
Works as the liaison between Residing Hope and the youth s family.
Coordinates community resources as needed by individual youth.
Attends and participates in changeover meetings.
