Collaborate with the finance office to assist with Medicaid recertification or SSA concerns
Ensure completion of Mental Health evaluations and coordination of services as needed
Act as a resident spokesperson when necessary
Requirements:
Work experience in human services, social services or other related fields strongly preferred
Proficiency in computer programs such as MS Office & MS Excel
Strong work ethic, intense drive, and initiative for quality customer service
Excellent written & oral communication skills and great problem-solving skills

The Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor or CASAC will provide alcoholism and substance use disorder counseling services for individuals served by the Supportive Crisis Stabilization Center (SCSC).
The role will support individuals experiencing mental health and substance use disorders, referred to as co-occurring disorders (COD). The CASAC can assist in assessment of symptoms form clients who may have substance abuse barriers by applying professional judgment to determine appropriate treatment needs and levels of care. The CASAC utilizes Evidence Based Practices as directed by SCSC clinical leadership team. This includes performing diagnostic assessment, evaluation, intervention, referral and alcoholism and/or substance abuse counseling within the scope of their CASAC credentials.
Core Responsibilities
Promote the individual's recovery by coordinating, developing and implementing in partnership with the individual, the treatment plan process.
Promote involvement of family or other relevant collateral contacts in the recovery process.
Provide individual psychotherapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention, within scope of education/certification.
Demonstrate knowledge of group work management techniques and use those techniques appropriately.
Provide linkage, referral, and case management as clinically indicated.
Serve as a member of a Multi-Disciplinary Clinical Team.
Respond to and support crisis interventions.

The Children's Crisis Residence is a short-term, therapeutic residential program designed to support youth ages 10-17 experiencing emotional, behavioral, or mental health crises. The residence provides a structured, safe environment where children receive individualized care, including crisis intervention, counseling, and daily living support. The goal is to stabilize the child, address immediate mental health needs, and prepare them for a successful transition back to their home or to a long-term care setting. The program works collaboratively with families and mental health professionals to ensure continuity of care and long-term stability.
The Residence Counselor supervises and supports youth in their daily routine in accordance with agency policy and program protocols, while consistently demonstrating a strength-based approach, Trauma Informed Care, and de-escalation techniques. The Residence Counselor is responsible for ensuring the health and safety of the youth for the duration of their stay.

Provide direct care, supervision, and support to children during their stay in the crisis residence.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to remain calm in challenging situations.

Job Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required.
A Master's degree (MSW, MHC, MFT, or related) is strongly preferred and may be required for clinical or supervisory roles.
Preferred 1 year of direct experience working with at-risk youth and families, case management, child welfare, trauma-informed care preferably in a home-based, or community setting.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes variable hours: days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional on-call responsibilities.

Carry a caseload of up to 15 families through a collaborative contract with Onondaga County Department of Social Services along with the option for additional cases assigned through Child and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) for families with NYS Medicaid and/or contracts with outside counties for youth in need of specialized sexual abuse services. (Identified clients may include, child, parent, family, or a combination of such)
Participate in training relevant to specialized sexual abuse services and working with children, adolescents and families, along with training to learn about the role and implementation of CFTSS as needed.
Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with youth and parents/caregivers.
Provide individual, parent, and family therapy.
Co-facilitate psycho-educational groups with children/adolescents and/or parents/caregivers.
Assist in providing specialized sexual abuse training to collaborative partners.
Maintain ongoing partnerships/collaborations with community partners and agencies.
Assist in the supervision of Graduate Interns, as needed.
Develop and implement therapeutic intervention and treatment plans.
Complete timely clinical assessments, treatment notes, treatment plans, treatment and discharge summaries, and other required documentation.
Assist in program development tasks.
Travel and attend meetings in the community and client homes to carry out responsibilities for home visits, service plan meetings, and other meetings.
Attend weekly supervisions and staff meetings.
Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Master's degree in social work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or other related mental health field from an accredited institution.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Must have active LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAT or license eligible (Limited Permit or in process of obtaining license) and be knowledgeable regarding trauma informed care.
Maintain professional standing in the field. Expectations include identifying areas needing additional training, knowledge, or skills, and maintaining professional licensure.
Valid and clean driver's license, with reliable transportation.
Acceptable clearance checks for State Central Register, fingerprinting, and other clearances as required by the program.
Preference given to those with experience with clientele and family systems.

Job Duties:
