A Scrub Tech is a professional who assists the surgical team. The Scrub Tech must be able to anticipate the surgeon's needs during an operation. The Scrub Tech must maintain strict sterile technique and follow current guidelines. The Scrub Tech works under the supervision of the circulating Registered Nurse in the operating room and/or Charge Nurse of the unit. The Scrub Tech must be a patient advocate.
