Job Title : OR Surgical Technologist Shift : M - F 6:30 am - 3:00 pm Duration: 13 Weeks Job details: open for a Certified Surgical Technologist with an ASAP start date. 25-bed critical access hospital in scenic Southwest Montana. Surgical department boasts a supportive, fast-paced working environment. Two years of previous OR experience preferred. Schedule is Monday - Friday with 5 - 7 days of call per month with one weekend. Surgical Technologists perform various duties as a member of the surgical team to ensure a safe and successful operative procedure. This position functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and directly reports to Surgical Services management. It is expected that the Tech will support system wide and surgical operations initiatives and practices. In addition, this person will actively participate in the surgical operations safety plan as outlined. Shifts and Scheduling Full-time, 40 hours/week. 10 or 12 hour shifts with consistent days off. Potential weekend shifts The Surgical Technologist has a pathway opportunity identified for advancement to Surgical Technologist levels II or III. Job Essentials Ensures room and all surgical items meet sterilization criteria. Maintains sterile field and safe environment. Recognizes and addresses sharps and fire safety processes. This can be done upon graduation or, according to the NCCT requirements, take beyond one year in order to meet worked hours (>6000) and case tracking requirements. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc). May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
