Job Summary and Qualifications

Your responsibilities will include:
Setting up and maintaining the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment to ensure safe, seamless procedures
Assisting with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety
Scrubbing in and partnering with the surgical team by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the team's needs
Monitoring patients and surgical equipment throughout procedures, responding promptly and effectively to any concerns
Upholding sterile technique, completing room turnover efficiently, and supporting a high-performing, collaborative team environment
What qualifications you will need:
Graduate of an accredited school of Certified Operating Room Technicians (CORT)
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required upon hire.
In addition to meeting the requirements of an OR Tech I position, must also be competent to perform as first scrub in three of the four following specialty areas: Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine and Vascular Surgery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Follows hospital regulations and industry procedures to tend to patient during pre-operation procedures.
Performs pre-operation preparations to the patient's skin, body and medical equipment.

Pass instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgeon assistants.
Hold retractors, cut sutures, and help count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments. Help prepare, care for, and dispose of specimens taken for laboratory analysis and help apply dressings.
Operate sterilizers, lights, or suction machines, and help operate diagnostic equipment.
After an operation, help transfer patients to the recovery room and clean and restock the operating room.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Overview
