In conjunction with the supervising Occupational Therapist, develop and implement a treatment plan based on evaluation/observation, input from the parent(s)/guardian(s), and multidisciplinary team (MDT) decisions. Provide treatment for children assigned to you by the department supervisor. Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and exercises to enhance the child's strength, coordination, mobility, and cognitive function. Contact families and construct/maintain client schedules, per the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). Prepare for scheduled therapy sessions and provide direct treatment and parent/guardian coaching. Assist in the re-evaluation of children assigned to you using the most appropriate test available. Participate in the MDT meetings and IFSP meetings. Present information on a level that is easily comprehended and meaningful to the student's parent(s)/guardian(s). Carry through with “team decision” when interacting with the child/family. Continue to obtain the knowledge required to remain current in the position by attending continuing education courses and workshops offered. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, using the EHR system (AdvancedMD,) including scheduling, family information, medical history, evaluation documentation, ongoing assessments, chart notes, treatment plans, goals and objectives, and transition reports in each child's file at CDC in conjunction with the Family Resource Coordinators (FRCs) and in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Attends and participates in all safety, job-specific required training, and informational meetings. Ensure that all therapy practices comply with relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards. Maintain licensure in good standing at all times. Stay current with best practices in occupational therapy by attending workshops, seminars, and continuing education courses. Other related duties as assigned. Requirements: Current Washington State Department of Health License for COTA. Completion of Infant/Toddler CPR and Basic First Aid. Completion of Bloodborne Pathogens training. Experience with infants and toddlers with special health care needs and their families. A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards, confidentiality, and ensuring equity and inclusion in a diverse workplace. Understanding of Electronic Health Record (her) systems (We use AdvancedMD), Microsoft Office Suite, databases, and other related software. Must have reliable transportation, the ability to commute locally for home visits. Must maintain a valid WA State Driver's license, adequate driving record and vehicle insurance. Must have the ability to lift and support children during therapy sessions, the physical stamina to stand or walk for extended periods, and manual dexterity for handling therapy tools and equipment. Due to our work with vulnerable populations, a background check including criminal record history, and pre-employment drug screening is required.
