Key Responsibilities

This can be done upon graduation or, according to the NCCT requirements, take beyond one year in order to meet worked hours (>6000) and case tracking requirements. Managers will need to meet with new hires and determine certification course, projected certification window, and track progress.

JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Lab Technologist (Med Tech) is responsible for the accurate collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of laboratory specimens in accordance with established procedures, regulatory standards, and quality guidelines. Operates, monitors, and performs preventative maintenance on automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment.

Job Summary and Qualifications
As a the OR Tech in Women's Services you will deliver high quality, patient centered care as you perform the role of the scrub person on Cesarean Sections, under the direct supervision of the perioperative nurse. Our team supports each other like family and we are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. In this role:
* You will be competent in the knowledge, skills and abilities to fulfill the scrub technician activities in the perinatal operating room as defined by AORN standards.
* You will work with Housekeeping and Central Processing staff to clean the Operating Rooms and equipment between patients following facility policies and procedures.
* You participate with the perinatal team in safety initiates to ensure correct surgery inpatient identification, and verification of the procedure to be performed within the OR when the patient is present and prior to the surgical prep.
* You will count all sponges, needles and instruments with the circulating RN on all surgical procedures done in the perinatal Operating Rooms following facility policies and procedures. In the event a sponge/needle count is incorrect, the circulating RN will inform the attending surgeon and the Anesthesiologist and a course of action will be determined and the action will be documented on the Operating Room Record as defined by facility policies and procedures.
* You will follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures.
* You will consistently assist the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment.
Qualifications:
* American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
* Surgical Technologist Certificate required within 6 months of hire or State of Idaho LPN.

Essential Functions:
Patient Care:
Exercise critical thinking and independent judgment in patient care within a multidisciplinary approach.
Assist the physician using proper techniques and ensure patient preparation for procedures.
Support the RN in accurately and timely carrying out physician orders.
Coordinate each patient's care needs with the preoperative team.
Adhere to medication administration policy, including labeling medications and verifying transfers.
Organize and prioritize the surgical plan of care efficiently.
Provide clear and concise reports when transferring patient care to another provider.
Quality:
Identify risk factors and ensure patient safety, implementing measures to prevent environmental hazards.
Collaborate with the RN to accurately document sharps, needles, and instrument counts.
Manage sharps safely to prevent injury.
Improve medication use safety through proper labeling and hand hygiene.
Follow Universal Protocol policy consistently and identify safety risks for patient populations.
Use supplies and equipment safely, ensuring proper functioning and reporting malfunctions.

Position Summary: Under general supervision, the Mail Room Specialist performs a variety of back-office tasks essential to the efficient operation of the Credit Union's mail services. This role includes managing incoming and outgoing mail, maintaining mailroom equipment, coordinating delivery routes, and ensuring accurate record-keeping for postage and related supplies.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Travel Requirements: Daily in Idaho Falls.
Responsibilities:
Mail Management:
Process all incoming verifications of deposit.
Sort, meter, and track all outgoing mail, ensuring accurate postage for Marketing, WIS, DLC, and FSLC
Run daily postmarked mail to the Post Office by 3:15 PM.
Delivery and Routing:
Pick up mail from designated Post Office locations and internal branches according to schedule Prepare bags for courier transport to Rexburg, Rigby, Blackfoot, Pocatello, Boise, Twin Falls Boise
Deliver bank deposits for foreign items to Bank of Commerce.
Drop off UPS and FedEx packages at the Hampton Inn on Channing.
Handle specialized pickups and deliveries (Jim's Trophy).
Equipment and Supplies:
Maintain mailroom equipment and perform routine vehicle maintenance for the mailroom vehicle.
Track monthly postage and order/inventory internal mail envelopes.
Refuel the mailroom vehicle weekly.
Administrative and Support Tasks:
Process mail payments.
Process RDC
Attend required meetings and provide support to other personnel as needed.
Perform any additional duties as assigned by the VP Operations Services Manager.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of Westmark's products, services, and department functions.
Proficiency in using Symitar and telecommunication equipment.
Quick and accurate typing and 10-key skills.
Competency in personal computer usage.

Prepares soiled instruments for cleaning. Preforms as needed in the decontamination and reprocessing of instruments.
Works cooperatively with other staff in putting unused supplies and equipment away and restocking rooms.
Adheres to and practices MVH Compliance Program and participates in Performance Improvement activities.
Performs on-call duties for emergency surgeries during after-duty-hours and on weekends on a rotating basis.
Maintains professional competency through appropriate continuing education.
Is fully knowledgeable of policies and procedures specific to the department of surgical services.

Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while managing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives
Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team consisting of the provider(s), surgeons, surgical technologists and more
Consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients
Assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes in patient condition along with the care provided thoroughly
Educate patients and families/caregivers about the patients medical condition, treatment and follow-up measures

Qualifications:
Graduate of an approved school of Operating Room Technicians or military trained required.
Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologist (AST) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required.
Graduate of a First Assistant (FA) program required.
Minimum of two (2) years' scrub and/or first assistant experience required. Proficient in multiple service lines required. Must possess CVOR first assist experience in CABG, TAVR and Valves.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Possess strong customer service skills and ability to multi-task in an ever changing workload environment.
Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
Job Specific Duties:
Participates and actively assists the surgeon in the performance of surgical procedures.
Assists with preoperative patient management in collaboration with health care providers. Performs preoperative evaluation and focused nursing assessments. Works in collaboration with other health care providers regarding the patient plan of care.
Provides surgical exposure accurately and appropriately for specific surgical procedures.
Provides hemostasis accurately and appropriately for specific surgical procedures.
Performs skills involving bone (i.e. drills, pins, saw) in orthopedics as directed by the surgeon.
Provides wound closure. To include, but may not be limited to; knot tying, wound approximation, subcuticular closure, skin closure, securing drains.
Assists at the end of the procedure by stabilizing the drain with suture appropriately.
Exhibits a commitment to professionalism while undertaking and completing all departmental competencies. Adheres to organizational policies and procedures and regulatory requirements and professional practice standards for the position.
Proficiently assists in CABG, TAVR, and Valves.
