Temporary/part-time employment is restricted to 1,000 hours within a 12-month period (July 1 - June 30) and does not qualify to receive City benefits, except those required by law. * Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
* 200 yard swim in 3 minutes and 30 seconds or less, swim goggles may be used.
Selection Interviews:

Benstead Plunge has been serving the community since 1956. "The Plunge," as commonly referred to, is a heated Olympic sized 50 x 20 meter outdoor pool, open year round. The pool is divided into two courses; one 25 yard and one 26 meter course. The pool is heated year-round to about 80° to 81°. The Plunge operating hours are from 4:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with classes and programs offered at various times.
The Positions
LIFEGUARD ($18.94 - $20.88 per hour)
Lifeguard duties include but are not limited to:
* Enforce pool safety rules and regulations;
* Monitor swimming and other pool activities;
* Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning;

Minimum age of 16
Certifications: Basic life support or professional rescuer CPR/AED, first aid, and emergency oxygen administration
Current YMCA Lifeguard or equivalent
Child abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date
