Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach group and private/semi-private swim lessons to beginner through advanced swim students.
Modify swim lessons to adapt to each swim students age and swim level.
Maintain timeliness with each swim lesson and follow pool schedule closely.
Write individual evaluations for each swimmer in the swim class and discuss student progress with guardians.
Open and close the pool, depending on shift time, following protocol outlined in the Staff Manual.
Caution participants regarding safe vs. unsafe behaviors; enforce all safety protocols.
Rescue participants in danger of drowning; administer first-aid/CPR if required.
Complete accident reports thoroughly if accidents occur and follow protocol outlined in Staff Manual.
Substitute for coworkers as needed.
Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet scheduling needs.
Support the emotional and social wellbeing of swim students through positive behavior management and supportive interactions.
Follow all emergency procedures at the SJCC.
Attend required staff training and meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Ethics:
Teaching sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to one's team
Building positive public relations in the school, with parents of athletes and in the community

Program Management:
Maintaining communications with high school administrators and other head coaches including attending required coaches' meetings.
Ensuring that all team meetings, practices and competitions are under the direction of and supervised by a coach

Working with secretary assigned to athletics to coordinate practice schedules, competition calendar, and transportation
Managing uniforms, equipment and school facilities in a responsible manner

Monitoring athletes' school attendance, grades and personal conduct; ensuring that athletes have complied with physical, insurance, ASB card and eligibility rules prior to any participation
Setting up and supervising any off-season conditioning program as approved by the administration

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
This position is that of a head coach and is represented by Monroe Education Association collective bargaining unit. The position of head coach will work a schedule determined by the athletic season. Salary and benefits as determined by the current collective bargaining agreement. Coaching salaries vary depending on the coaching assignment, coaching experience, and the level of competition.
EVALUATION PROCEDURES
Performance shall be evaluated annually according to Board and administrative policies and procedures.

The Department of Urology at the University of Washington has (1) one full-time fellowship opportunity in Urologic Oncology (2027-2028). The fellow will be appointed as an Acting Instructor in our program, with an anticipated start date of July 1. Acting instructors hold
annual
appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
The monthly salary range for this position will be: $7,641 - $8,771 per month ($91,692 - $105,252 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Overview
The goal of advanced training in urologic oncology is to provide further knowledge and skills beyond the expertise achieved during a urology residency program. The additional expertise should include scholarship, critical analysis of complex clinical problems, and development of advanced technical skills. The fellow should develop good skills in the planning of multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. The trainee should also achieve expertise in basic and clinical scientific research methodologies.
After completing a two-year minimum fellowship in Urologic Oncology, the surgeon should demonstrate the following unique characteristics:
Advanced expertise in the multidisciplinary management of patients with urologic cancer;
Knowledge and the ability to apply the critical principles of:
Medical oncology
Radiation oncology
Uropathology
Urologic imaging techniques;
Ability to perform complex tumor resections with a clear understanding of the benefits and the technical limitations of surgical procedures;
Ability to perform laparoscopic approaches for diagnostic and therapeutic treatment of urologic malignancies;
Extensive knowledge of and technical experience in urinary tract diversion and reconstruction;
Knowledge of the biology of urologic malignancies;
Comprehension of and facility with scientific methodology, study design, biostatistics, clinical trials, and data analysis;
Ability to manage academic or tertiary referral clinical practice, participate in continuing education.
Skills for self-education, and collaboration in translational research.
Fellows will be under the mentorship of Dr. John Gore, for subspecialty training in urological oncology. The primary site of training will be the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC). The fellow will collaborate with world-class surgeons, and with superb residents and other subspecialty fellows. Fellows are expected to participate in all Departmental and Divisional seminars and educational activities.
First Year
First year duties and expectations will primarily be oriented to your research project.
Second Year
In the second year, the fellow will devote the majority of your effort to clinical surgical training and patient care, with approximately 20% of time available for clinical research. The duties assigned include assisting in the Urology Clinic and in the OR at UWMC, accumulating clinical data and writing clinical papers.
Admission is contingent upon completion of an ACGME accredited urologic training program or an appropriate foreign program.
The applicant must have a letter of support from their urology training program director recommending them for the fellowship and attesting to the candidate's successful completion of the urology training program. Two additional letters are required.
Applicants must be eligible for or possess a Washington State Medical License.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
