Community Education is looking for an energetic swim instructor to assist the lead instructor for Saturday swim classes! The Assistant Swimming Instructor supports certified swim instructors in delivering safe, engaging, and effective swim lessons for participants of varying ages and skill levels. This role is responsible for helping maintain a positive learning environment, ensuring swimmer safety, and assisting with class organization, demonstrations, and skill development. This position is every Saturday starting April 11 - May 30 Key Responsibilities * Assist the lead instructor in planning and conducting swim lessons according to the program's curriculum and safety standards. * Support students in the water by demonstrating skills, offering guidance, and providing individualized encouragement. * Monitor participants closely to ensure safety and proper technique throughout each lesson. * Help set up and maintain equipment before, during, and after classes. * Observe student progress and communicate relevant feedback to the lead instructor. * Encourage a fun, inclusive, and confidence-building environment for swimmers of all abilities. * Enforce pool rules and safety protocols at all times. * Provide general assistance with class organization, attendance tracking, and transitions between groups. * Assist in responding to minor incidents and alert the lead instructor or lifeguard when necessary. Qualifications * Strong swimming skills and comfort working with children and/or beginner swimmers. * Ability to communicate clearly, patiently, and positively. * Enthusiasm for teaching, coaching, and working in an aquatic environment. * Reliability, professionalism, and the ability to follow direction from lead instructors. * Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). * Previous experience as a swimmer, coach, camp counselor, or similar role is an asset. Provides direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for students in swimming classes. The Lansdale Swim Team is looking for a Head Swimming and Diving Coach for the 2026 Bux Mont Swim League (Bux Mont Swim League) season. We are looking for an energetic and motivated individual to work with our swimmers' grades K-12, Head Diving Coach, Assistant Coaches, Parents and Volunteers. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years coaching experience, head coaching experience preferred, strong leadership and communication skills, the ability to connect with children from grades K-12, and an infectious enthusiasm for the sport of swimming. In addition, will have the drive and desire to improve the competitiveness of the team, while creating a fun and positive environment for the swim team members, coaches and families. The candidate will work closely with the Swim Team Board, Lansdale Borough Leadership and swim team parent representatives to carry out the many day-to-day responsibilities of the coaching staff. Practices and Meets: The swim season runs from Memorial Day until the first week in August. Meets are held on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings in June and July, as well as a few Saturday invitationals. Regular attendance for these events is required. Preseason meetings may be required. Our Ridley Area YMCA is currently hiring for Lifeguards and Aquatic Instructors. Shift hours and days will vary. Maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Provides direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for students in swimming classes. Checks the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving. Performs: chemical testing, bathing loads, and water conditions, as required, and documents results and takes appropriate action. Completes accident/incident reports for any occurrences while on duty. Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times. Attends all staff meetings and in-service trainings. Any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the success of the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Minimum age of 15.2. Certifications: Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/AED, and First Aid.3. Certification: Current YMCA Lifeguard or American Red Cross Lifeguard.4. Ability to demonstrate (pre-hire) and maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness.5. Completion of required trainings. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around the zone of responsibility. Remain alert with no lapses of consciousness.2. Meet strength and lifting requirements.3. See and observe all sections of an assigned zone or area of responsibility.
