This position is on-site with no possibility for remote or hybrid work!
POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Fitness and Wellness Specialist, you will work closely with the residents of the community to improve the overall quality of their life. Symbria's Well-Being program focuses on providing strategies, programs, and services to older adults, enabling them to prolong their independence. Our group exercise classes, and educational sessions are based on guidelines from the American College of Sports Medicine, the Centers for Disease Control, and the National Institutes of Health. We offer advanced artificial intelligence (AI) balance assessment technology and develop customized fitness programs to the needs of each individual participant.
Responsibilities
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide education to residents and staff of client communities on the benefits of Symbria's Well-Being program.
Increase program enrollment by actively promoting Symbria's services.
Act as program liaison to designated client committees.
Any and all duties as assigned.
FITNESS-SPECIFIC TASKS:
Complete enrollment and medical screening processes for each participant according to Symbria Well-Being Operating Standards.
Schedule and conduct Risk of Fall assessments, and CDC STEADI questionnaire.
These assessments are vital in identifying residents' current physical abilities.
Develop customized fitness programs for residents based on ACSM guidelines.
Teach/Provide standardized group exercise classes and specialty programs based on current ACSM/AHA guidelines and Symbria Well-Being Operating Standards.
Work with the Symbria Rehab therapy team to coordinate the transition to and from therapy and Well-Being.
Reassess participants on a semi-annual basis and provide ongoing feedback to participants to ensure proper interventions.
Where applicable, provide appropriate instruction and orientation to participants on proper use of center equipment.
Achieve/exceed Symbria's established performance benchmarks.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To perform successfully in this role, the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily is necessary. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
Minimum personal trainer or group instructor certification required: American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Health Fitness Instructor; American Council on Exercise (ACE), or National Association for Fitness Certification (NAFC).
CPR and first aid certification.
Strong communication, presentation, time management, and organizational skills.
Proficient use of technology, including video conferencing; network, laptop, and tablet devices; and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology or related field.
Experience in teaching group exercise programs.
Experience working with older adults with demonstrated ability to improve their overall health and well-being.

As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for supervision of the rehab staff and therapy activities in the community. As the leader of our interdisciplinary team, you will act as a trusted partner for the client and community along with maintaining expected productivity standards. More importantly, you will help your patients achieve critical outcomes.
Qualifications
Be a graduate of an accredited school for Therapy (PTA, PT, COTA, OT, or SLP).
Hold a valid state license.
Previous managerial experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
Obtain necessary background information from assigned patient's charts.
Assist supervising licensed Occupational Therapist in obtaining specific evaluation data within areas of established expertise.
Seek assistance from supervising licensed Occupational Therapist to obtain evaluation data outside Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant expertise.
Modify appropriate existing short-term goals within areas of treatment expertise for assigned patients and select and adapt treatment techniques to meet established goals and meet individual patient needs.
Discuss treatment plan with patient and family as indicated.
Complete all required clinical and billing documentation as indicated and submit in a timely manner.
Administer the prescribed Occupational Therapy program to restore and maintain maximum functions and present disability. The following modalities may be used for this purpose:
Therapeutic exercises and activity for upper extremity function.
Therapeutic exercises and activity for sensory and perceptual skills.
Exercises and activity to improve coordination.
Instructions in self-care, including light hygiene, bathing, dressing, transfers, eating, homemaking, and instruction in leisure time activities, education in body mechanics, work simplification and joint protection.
Adhere to Symbria's mission, Code of Conduct, and policies and procedures.
Able to maintain productivity standards.
Full utilization of technology provided to document and enhance client care.
Adhere to terms and conditions of travel assignment contract.
Available and willing to travel to any location where Symbria provides contracted therapy services.
Must be able to provide own transportation between patient visits and travel assignments.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily is necessary and the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
Graduate of an accredited school for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants.
A valid registered license is required for Symbria's operating states, or the ability to obtain a license or compact license to support assignments in any designated state.
If using a compact license, must have full license in your state of residence.
Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and basic math skills.
Effective interpersonal skills with strong focus on customer service.
Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.
Acute care, long-term care and/or rehabilitation experience (preferred not required).
TRAVEL ASSIGNMENT INFORMATION
Assignments will be based on 13-week internal contracts. Once an assignment is complete there will be an option to extend the assignment or to be placed at another Symbria location. Terms of the contract are based on company and staffing needs.
Each assignment is eligible for a monthly living stipend based on location and travel.
Continuous assignments are guaranteed for one year. After completing a year of travel assignments, you may have the opportunity for relocation assistance to secure a permanent placement or choose to continue as part of the internal travel team.

Responsibilities
As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for supervision of the rehab staff and therapy activities in the community. As the leader of our interdisciplinary team, you will act as a trusted partner for the client and community along with maintaining expected productivity standards. Responsibilities
As an Occupational Therapist (OT), you will establish appropriate goals and creatively execute the treatment plans along with supervision of the Occupational Therapist Assistants. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be required to maintain productivity standards and complete required documentation. More importantly, you will help your patients achieve critical outcomes while acting as a trusted partner to the community you serve.
Qualifications
* Be a graduate of an accredited school for Occupational Therapists.
* Hold a valid or pending (for newer graduates) state license.
* It's great to have had acute care, long-term care and/or rehabilitation experience but not always required!
