The Sr. Inventory Accounting & Operations Liaison bridges Finance/Accounting with Inventory, Warehouse, Supply Chain, and Production teams. End to end processing cycle of national, multi-state payroll operation bi-weekly in HRIS (Workday). Ensure on-time and compliant delivery of pay to employees.
Triage incoming tickets in our Shared Services platform, tackling Level 1 issues independently. This includes processing wage verification requests, garnishments, off cycle check requests, lock in letters, arrears management, and responding to other timekeeping and payroll inquiries. Escalates advanced issues to the HRIS Analyst team or the Senior Payroll Administrator.

Make continuous improvement suggestions related to user experience and process opportunities. Partner with the community locations and internal partners to improve payroll delivery and services. Identify themes and develop incident reduction strategies, to include training and user education.
Partner on special employee or company programs that touch payroll services, such as bonus, merit, commissions, benefits, acquisitions, org restructurings, special government reporting (BLS), etc.

Position Overview:
The Tax Department is relied upon by all facets of the organization including sales, new client implementation, client support and finance. The Sr. Inventory Accounting & Operations Liaison bridges Finance/Accounting with Inventory, Warehouse, Supply Chain, and Production teams. Work closely with the Operations team to implement and maintain effective inventory processes and controls and conduct regular validation and testing to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
Reconcile inventory balances between the general ledger and subledgers/ERP systems (D365 Finance & Operation, Warehouse Management System (WMS), and Batory Manufacturing System (BMS)) for all manufacturing and distribution sites.
Ensure GAAP compliance in inventory valuation (FIFO, Moving Average); support review of costing configurations in D365 F&O.
Audit inventory costing; identify variances and execute correcting entries to support accurate financial reporting.
Review 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) inventory reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
Monitor, validate, and record inventory adjustments (shrinkage, obsolescence, scrap, write-offs, returns), including review and approval for quantity and cost reasonableness.
Maintain reporting for pending/unposted inventory adjustments.
Partner with auditors and facility leadership during cycle counts, year-end physical counts, and 3PL inventory confirmations.
Perform annual price testing for auditors.
Support year-end packaging counts and prepare related journal entries.

Support creation, review, and approval processes for BOMs in D365 and BMS.

Responsibilities will include performing tax research and analysis of various international tax issues to assist in providing international tax advice and working with software applications to assist clients with tax reporting obligations for international operations.
Job Duties:
Tax Consulting
Assists with developing, recommending, and implementing critical thinking to provide clients with tax advice on international tax issues
Gains exposure to the development of work plans for all assigned clients
Learns about international tax law relevant to particular clients and how that law can be appropriately applied to client facts
Monitors tax law and client factual developments on a daily basis
Coordinates with BDO non-US colleagues in approximately 160 countries on how US tax rules align with foreign tax law to impact client transactions
Tax Specialization
Begins to develop an understanding of the technical and practical issues and opportunities regarding International taxation and explores specializing in one or more international tax areas
Research

Assists in preparing Written Tax Advice (WTA) on international tax and cross-border transactions
Tax Compliance
Assists in obtaining required client information to utilize in the preparation of international tax compliance forms and US international informational reporting
Begins to develop a basic level of understanding of tax compliance as evidenced by:
Ability to use Firm tax compliance software to maximize efficiency in tax preparation process
Understanding international tax compliance topics such as Subpart F income, Earnings and Profits adjustments and foreign tax credits and analyzing cross-border transactions for tax return impacts, including Section 351 and Section 304 transactions, liquidations under Sections 331 and 332, and reorganizations under Section 368
Tax Technology
Utilizes tax research databases such as RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis
