KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare and file accurate sales and use tax returns across multiple states and local jurisdictions on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Ensure timely remittance of tax payments to avoid penalties and interest. Reconcile all sales and use tax accounts and prepare necessary adjusting journal entries (AJEs). Maintain organized and complete documentation for all filings, positions, and notices. Research and interpret state and local tax laws, staying current on legislative changes and procedural updates. Respond to tax notices and inquiries from state and local tax authorities. Assist with sales and use tax audits, including documentation gathering and auditor communications.
