Communicate with general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors regarding invoicing and payment inquiries.
Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, subcontractors, and vendors.
Adhere to all regulations, policies, and work procedures.
Provide direct support to project management teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Offer accounting assistance to Project Managers and operations staff; address financial questions and concerns promptly.
Respond to all vendor inquiries.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Prior accounting or related experience is preferred; preferably in the concrete industry.
Computer and software skills, including Microsoft Office required, Vista/Viewpoint preferred.

The Senior Accountant position will pay a key role in the preparation of the monthly financial reporting of the company and its subsidiary. 1. Prepare monthly financial statements for review by the Accounting Manager
A. Compare year-to-date, prior year and budget figures on the Income Statement and Balance Sheet in comparison to the budget package and prior year statements to ensure accuracy
B. Assist with compiling and printing financial statements in accordance with GAAP within 3 business days of month end
C. Identify trends and significant issues on the Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
D. Create mitigation plan to offset and correct deficiencies.
E. Create monthly operational reports for key department managers.
F. Create and Maintain Key Performance Indicator reports and components to corporate dashboard. Complete and submit to Accounting Manager for review.
G. Utilize and create financial layout reports from the PeopleSoft/Hyperion reporting software.
2. Assist with the year-end audit package for the external auditors
A. Analyze and document all assigned Balance Sheet accounts with supporting detail
B. Provide reconciliations and other requests in accordance with audit timeframes
3. Reconcile assigned Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts within seven working days after the end of close
4. Prepare quarterly and annual Department of Insurance reports for submission by Accounting Manager.
