Summary Statement: The Youth Support Mentor is a young adult with lived experience of long-term recovery from substance use, mental health conditions, and/or navigating challenges in education, child welfare, or legal systems. The Youth Support Mentor will provide brief intervention and counseling to at-risk youth by using iDECIDE drug education curriculum and Project Amp substance use prevention/mentorship program to participants.
Essential Functions:
Complete training to provide iDECIDE and Project Amp curriculum to youth
Actively engage in outreach to increase awareness of prevention, intervention, and treatment services for youth facing substance use-related risks
Collaborate with youth, families, and community collaterals to enhance motivation and reduce barriers to program participation
Build rapport with enrolled youth and their families/caregivers (as appropriate)
Review and/or conduct assessments of needs, values, and strengths in full partnership with the enrolled youth and family
Identify and build relationships with partner agencies and community resources
Collaborate with local agencies and supports to connect youth with pro-social supports and opportunities
Participate in all required program/agency meetings, training, supervision, quality management and related activities
Work in collaboration with the Program Manager, youth team, and referral sources
Maintain all written reports and records (including electronic health records and required evaluation documentation) accurately and in a timely manner
Use cloud-based systems for communication with IHR's site office, including shared calendars, timesheets, and supervisor check-ins.
Attend team and agency staff meetings.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, family therapy, substance abuse or related human service field.
Lived experience of long-term recovery from substance use, mental health conditions, and/or navigating challenges in education, child welfare, or legal systems.
Previous experience working with transition-age youth, young adults, families who are at risk of or impacted by SUDs/CODs.
Previous experience working in multi-cultural environments and organizations with community-based, non-profit organizations.
Ability to establish a relatable and approachable connection with adolescents.
Good organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural groups.
Self-starter with ability to work independently.

Valid driver's license, good driving record, and regular access to a reliable vehicle.

Summary Statement: The In-Home Therapist & Clinician will be part of the youth team serving youth/young people and their families by providing intensive, in-home therapeutic services. This position also includes opportunities to provide outpatient individual therapy services to youth and young adults with co-occurring substance use and mental health needs. This position would be serving clients in Boston and surrounding towns (Somerville, Cambridge, Watertown, etc.)
Essential Functions:
Provide in home (CBHI in-home therapy) and community-based outreach, engagement, and treatment to families struggling with substance use and other mental health disorders.
Provide strength-based and trauma-informed evidence-based interventions and case management, including Motivational Interviewing and A-CRA in clients' homes and/or community locations.
Conduct comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessments and individualized treatment plans related to substance use/mental health, trauma, relapse prevention, recovery support and treatment retention.
Provide wrap-around services by helping families and clients identify and access community treatment, natural supports, and other resources, including collaboration with referral sources as well as other providers involved with the youth/family to coordinate and implement appropriate services.
Provide treatment working in a dyad with the Therapeutic Training and Support Specialist to identify and address family strengths and needs.
Participate in training and professional development, including certification and/or proficiency in evidence-based models including A-CRA (become certified within 6 months of training), and Motivational Interviewing
Provide outreach to community organizations, schools, and other service providers to increase referrals to both youth team services.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical electronic health records, billing records, and reporting as necessary.
Maintain a minimum of productivity for billable client services (26hrs/week).
Meet regularly with Supervisor for clinical and administrative supervision.
Use cloud-based systems for communication with IHR's site office, including shared calendars, timesheets, and supervisor check-ins.
Attend team and agency staff meetings.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
The Staff on Duty, Driving Services is responsible for monitoring the safety and security of the facility through supervision of residents and their guests. The Staff on Duty, Driving Services teaches residents socially appropriate behavior by role modeling.
Additionally, the Staff on Duty, Driving Services is responsible for providing regular van shuttle service on and off of Ward's Island. She/he must be a self-motivated individual who functions as part of a clinical environment, which provides supportive services and resources to residents. The Facility Manager directly supervises the Staff on Duty, Driving Services.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct hourly facility runs and document findings on log sheets.
Maintain all necessary communication in the facility logbook.
Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the facility through daily supervision of residents assigned to housekeeping job functions.
Provide regularly scheduled van shuttle service on and off Ward's Island.
Complete Vehicle Travel Log Sheets on a monthly basis and submit to the Facility Manager.
Maintain the cleanliness of the Odyssey House van used for shuttle service.
Maintain updated resident database, bed sheets, and room assignments.
Ensure that all therapeutic activities are properly facilitated and that they begin and end in a timely fashion.
When assigned, facilitate and monitor morning meeting.
Participate in crisis intervention and provide close observation and supervision of residents in crisis.
Distribute legal letters, medical feedback and metro cards to residents.
Monitor all residents leaving and reentering the facility.
Address all resident medical needs via the medical on-call policy & procedure.
When necessary, conduct resident screening for contraband and conduct urine toxicology tests.
Complete all incident reports prior to the completion of shift.
Perform HRA finger imaging and ensure that all residents sign the HRA sign in sheet on a daily basis.
Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings.
Attend all required in-service training seminars.
Participate in quality improvement activities.
Other relevant duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
High school diploma or G.E.D required.
Valid NYS Driver's License (CDL preferred but not required).
Prior experience working in a clinical, mental health, housing or chemical dependency setting preferred.
Must demonstrate appropriate written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Must be computer literate.
CPR/First Aid Certification required. Candidates lacking this certification must be able to maintain this minimum standard within the six (6) month introductory employment period.

Provide direct evidence-based and/or evidence-informed trauma treatment and services, including screening, diagnostic assessment, community-based engagement/outreach strategies, and care management to children 0-6 years old and their parents who may be from diverse racial and ethnic communities.
Promote parental capacities for understanding and addressing the impact of trauma in their own and their children's lives.
Enhance the quality of the parent-child relationship through supporting positive, pleasurable Interactions and capacities for play.
Build collaborative relationships with community providers including child-serving systems (e.g., child welfare, law enforcement and courts, juvenile justice system, schools, faith-based entities, primary care, etc.) to promote relationship-based practice and promote best practices for addressing trauma in young children impacted by parental substance use at the local and/or regional levels.
