CCAD seeks a part-time Adjunct Instructor to teach the
Introduction to Biomedical Illustration
course. The
Introduction to Biomedical Illustration
course introduces students to medical illustration through the study of human anatomy, including skeletal, muscular, and organ systems. Instruction covers anatomical drawing techniques, research methods, and hands-on experiences and collaboration with medical professionals.
The ideal candidate will have current industry experience, strong illustration skills (including drawing, rendering, color, and composition), and the ability to mentor students of diverse backgrounds. Candidates should demonstrate leadership, reliability, and a passion for teaching and collaboration.
This role works closely with the program chair and faculty to inspire the next generation of illustrators.

Qualifications:
Professional experience in biomedical/medical illustration
Strong foundation in anatomical drawing and visual storytelling
A Bachelor of Fine Arts or related field is required
Prior teaching experience preferred, preferably complimented by professional experience and a minimum of three years of college level teaching experience preferred.

A terminal degree in the related field is encouraged.

* Course Description: history, morphology, physiology, nutritional growth requirements, metabolism, methods of identification. Focus on disease-causing microorganisms, appropriate prevention, treatment, control mechanisms. Specific/non-specific host defense mechanisms, applications of immunology examined.
* Required to manage the instructional process, to include but not limited to: course preparation, student attendance records, student assessment, grading, and must be accessible to students outside of scheduled classroom time (to include electronic communications as well as in-person meetings).
* Final grades posted within 72-hours of course completion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
* Master's degree and a combination of 18 graduate/undergraduate credits in Microbiology or related subfield. Transcripts must identify at least 9 graduate/undergraduate credits in Microbiology (i.e., the instructional discipline) and another 9 graduate/undergraduate credits in the related discipline.
* Examples of qualifying disciplines could include, but are not limited to:
* Microbiology
* Genetics

* Minimum of one year (2,000 hours) of paid occupational experience outside the field of education, preferably in Microbiology/Immunology in a hospital or medical setting.

Purpose: The purpose of the Arts & Crafts program is to provide informal education and cultural development services for Boys & Girls Club members. This is accomplished through the implementation of a weekly program plan that includes daily and group projects, motivational/participatory programs, group clubs and skills classes. The Arts & Crafts program instills creativity within youngsters and helps them to acquire and develop skills. Mentoring, both individually and in groups, occurs daily in the Arts & Crafts room. Summary
