The OT - Occupational Therapist provides direct rehab care in occupational therapy to patients upon physician referral in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements
NBCOT certified upon hire, but renewal is optional going forward
Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy (BSOT or MSOT)
Currently registered/licensed in applicable State. Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
One (1) year experience in post acute care or related setting preferred
CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.

Participates in community health matters/projects as appropriate
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e mail
Liaisons with patients, families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for patient needs
Must demonstrate good body mechanics at all times

Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department

Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures

Behavioral Health Technicians support the function and operations of Buena Vista Health and Recovery, operating as health care institutions and providing Inpatient (Detox), Residential, and Outpatient services. Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in the admission of patients which includes orientation, vital signs completion, urine drug screening, rounding and observation, documentation, room searches, dietary responsibilities, and food handling/service. Assist other clinical personnel with body searches and skin audits.
Documents all patient care in the electronic medical record at time of providing care.
Documents patients daily progress in an objective manner.
Performs facility walk-throughs and evaluates care environment to establish a consistent presence and awareness of patient's behavior.
Interacts positively with patients, provides support, education, and de-escalation as needed.
Assists with morning and bedtime routines, including daily hygiene.
Encourages socially acceptable habits and behaviors (i.e. personal hygiene and grooming, table etiquette, etc.)

Monitors all incoming mail, packages and parcels and personally observes the contents of these items for the presence of contraband.

Assesses and diagnoses utilizing ICD-10 criteria. Utilizes DC 0-5 to provide diagnoses or diagnostic impressions for children aged birth to five. Utilizes DSM-5-TR to provide diagnoses or diagnostic impressions for children and adults.
Meets requirements of productivity standards set for therapists.
Completes progress notes using the appropriate covered service billing codes and writes comprehensive and timely reports as required by funding source and/or system partners.
Participates in the process of ongoing professional development and meetings. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts within the agency, members, and external agencies. Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with EBF Code of Conduct, Strategic Plan, Mission, and Vision.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Therapist II
Participates in additional training to further clinical skills.
Participates in the process of ongoing professional development and meetings. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts within the agency, members, and external agencies. Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with EBF Code of Conduct, Strategic Plan, Mission, and Vision.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Therapist III
Conducts training.
Mentors/offers shadowing to newer therapists.
Takes referrals for commercial/self-pay population.
Participates in the process of ongoing professional development and meetings. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts within the agency, members, and external agencies. Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with EBF Code of Conduct, Strategic Plan, Mission, and Vision.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or related behavioral health field eligible for licensure by the AZ Board of Behavioral Health with two years related experience (BHT) or Associate license in social work, counseling, marriage and family, or substance abuse recognized by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (BHP) required. Therapist II has obtained permanent associate level licensure with AZBBHE. Therapist III has obtained permanent independent level licensure with AZBBHE. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Regulatory
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Current, unrestricted AZ driver's license with no more than two (2) minor moving violations or one (1) accident within the past three (3 years). Three (3) years of driving experience required.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Ability to obtain and maintain an AZ DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card (employer provides).
CPR and First Aid certification (Employer provides).
Satisfactorily Completed Competency Checklist within 6 months of hire.
Skills/Job Knowledge/Abilities: Must have a strong clinical knowledge of development across the life span and knowledge of best practices when working with diverse populations with trauma backgrounds. Extensive knowledge of managed care systems, AHCCCS/Title XIX medical assistance screening, and ADHS policies and practices. Knowledge and understanding of the current DSM and relevant diagnosis for the population served. Ability to accurately read, record and interpret information, including assessments, measures, and diagnostic criteria. Demonstrates clinical competency in accordance with standards for the position. Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with well-developed problem-solving abilities. Strong written and communication skills. Strong organization, time management and project management and multitasking skills. Skill in using business software and electronic health records. Knowledge of cultural differences and implications for appropriate services. Knowledge of the behavioral health system in Arizona. Maintains a professional in appearance, communications, and actions. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Possess a high level of computer proficiency.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements (with or without accommodation): Normal office environment with multiple interruptions in person and through computer and phone. Travel to outlying sites and other locations as needed. Interacts with employees and members of the public daily. May lift normal office equipment and materials up to 25lbs. Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms, and to assess the wellbeing of members. Able to communicate verbally with members and emergency personnel as needed for daily operations. Hearing ability for communication in persona, phone, and/or other electronic methods. Manual dexterity for typing and writing. Able to stoop, squat, reach, pull, push, stretch, ascend and descend stairs, stand and sit for long periods of time. May be required to work additional hours or days depending on circumstances.
