What Can I Expect as a Behavior Technician?
Behavior technicians work in our highly specialized programs where we serve individuals with exceptional levels of interfering behavioral and mental health needs. These individuals may have a history of high-risk behaviors, crisis situations, and multiple failed placements.
These homes have been extensively modified to support daily behaviors and ensure the safety of residents through consistent interventions.
In this role, you will implement Behavior Support Plans under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, work closely with a small caseload (max 3 individuals), and support clients in developing essential life skills. You will assist with de-escalation, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure a safe and respectful environment for all clients.
Daily Responsibilities Include:
· Facilitate Individualized Treatment Plans: Implement personalized treatment plans to address the unique needs and goals of each individual.
· Promote Skill Acquisition: Encourage and support the development of new skills through structured activities and guidance.
· One-on-One Interaction: Provide focused, individualized attention to enhance personal growth and development.
· Ensure Quality Care: Deliver high standards of care, ensuring the well-being and comfort of individuals.

Overview
Children's Mercy Kansas City has 3 openings for pediatric psychologists to join our rapidly expanding team of pediatric psychologists who provide care to patients across over 31 integrated programs across the hospital through outpatient assessment and targeted consultation, and inpatient consultation, with growing needs identified across multiple surgical subspeciality areas. The psychologist would be a member of the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Health and would also join one or more subspecialty surgery teams/programs (e.g., spine, otology, sports medicine, uveitis, urology, colorectal/general surgery, gynecology).
We are recruiting a psychologist who has training and/or experience with youth with medical complexity and within multidisciplinary teams in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Experience conducting targeted outpatient consultations, brief evidence-based interventions, pre-surgical evaluations, inpatient consultations, multidisciplinary care conferences, and targeted testing is desired.
This position will include teaching in the hospital's pediatric medical and psychology training programs. It will also include protected academic time for service, research, and other scholarly activities. Faculty mentoring is provided for all new faculty members and additional support is available for those interested in clinical scholarship (e.g., program evaluation, quality improvement initiatives). This position carries an academic appointment at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, with rank commensurate to qualifications and experience.
Applicants must have:
A PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology, pediatric psychology, clinical child psychology, or related field
Completion of an APA-accredited internship and/or post-doctoral fellowship with clinical child and adolescent psychology as a major area of study

A Therapist I/II School-Based is an individual who is or can be provisionally or fully licensed (LMSW, PLPC, LCSW, LPC) therapist with the State of Missouri. Zero (0) to three (3) years of experience is required. The Therapist II position requires professional licensure (e.g. LCSW, LPC) and ability to be credentialed with Missouri Medicaid. Position Overview
