We are seeking applicants for RN Treatment / Wound Care Nurse
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing, the Treatment Nurse is responsible for the skin care to residents under the medical direction and supervision of the residents' attending physicians, or the Medical Director of the facility, with an emphasis on treatment and therapy of skin disorders.
Qualifications:
Current RN. license by State required with experience in the long term care or working with the geriatric population preferred.
Wound care or treatment certifications in the state where the specific duties are being performed is preferred but we will certify the right applicants.
Duties:
Oversee all direct wound care activities to assure practices are consistent
Identify, plan, implement, and evaluate skin care in residents
Manage and treat specific skin disorders
Coordinates weekly skin rounds
Perform assessment evaluations using techniques including observation, and inspection
Confer with the Care Planning Team in the development of the care plan
Provide treatment for skin disorders within established wound care protocol
Monitor the use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning and positioning
Precept new nurses and demonstrate individual procedures to new nursing personnel
Order and tracks the usage of supplies/equipment in prevention and treatment
Assist in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident, in accordance with established medical practices, the regulatory guidelines and the policies and goals of this facility
Provides information to resident and caregivers on prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve the general health and psychosocial status of the resident

4. Evaluate the resident and his/her records or charts, and discriminate between normal and abnormal findings in order to recognize when to refer the resident to a physician for evaluation, supervision or directions.
5. Implement and maintain established policies and procedures relative to restorative care. Must interpret the policy and procedures to the physician, resident and family members.

Must be Licensed Nurse in good standing and meet all applicable Federal and State requirements
Must demonstrate basic nursing skills and knowledge necessary to care for the elderly and disabled

Job Summary

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Duties:
Oversee all direct wound care activities to assure practices are consistent
Identify, plan, implement, and evaluate skin care in residents
Manage and treat specific skin disorders
Coordinates weekly skin rounds
Perform assessment evaluations using techniques including observation, and inspection
Confer with the Care Planning Team in the development of the care plan
Provide treatment for skin disorders within established wound care protocol
Monitor the use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning and positioning

Assist in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident, in accordance with established medical practices, the regulatory guidelines and the policies and goals of this facility
