About the Role:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Extensive traveling
Delivery equipment ranges from 30-45' open-top dump trailers (combination vehicles) across a regional footprint determined by management.
Operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles by DOT requirements as well as all local, state, and federal laws.
Perform pre-and post-trip inspections.
Typical use of hand tools for basic repairs of company bins and equipment.
Maintenance of basic truck equipment and overall cleanliness of equipment.
Utilize electronic logging system for DOT driver logs and as otherwise required.
Maintain paperwork (contamination and service tickets, truck maintenance, etc.) and submit all documentation to the appropriate party.
Regularly communicate with customers and vendors to ensure seamless operations.
Communicate with the corporate office/operations team regularly for all service, equipment, and customer service-related issues.
Report all accidents and injuries immediately to the safety manager.
Ability to work flexible hours based on seasonality, up to 60 hours in a 7-day week or 70 hours in 8 days.
Attend and participate in weekly safety calls, trainings, or briefings.
Basic usage of computer and cell phone for training, communication, and expense management
Required Skills & Abilities:
Valid Class CDL-A in state of residence with a TANKER endorsement - Roll Off or Triaxle. End dump experience is a plus in some areas.
Time Management and ability to maintain route consistency.

Drives a tank truck & trailer or tractor/ trailer to customer's location; connects hose to tank and opens valves, reads gauges, record amounts delivered and leaves delivery ticket receipt with customer.
Checks truck once to determine if repairs are necessary. Accurately completes all regulatory and customary paperwork.
Establishes/maintains good customer contact skills in handling customer's questions or schedules. Calls customers before loading/leaving load rack to make sure customer can receive load. Answer inquiries as appropriately and/or refers customers to proper company source for accurate response.
Maintains the assigned work areas, tank truck vehicle and/or its equipment in a clean and orderly manner performing housekeeping chores as required and/or directed.
Follows, maintains and adheres to all safety rules and operating procedures for facilities, loading rack, and customer premises. Follows traffic laws and DOT regulations.

Pay after Training

Primarily responsible for exercising safe driving practices ensuring the safety of the public. Responsible for operating commercial motor vehicle transporting live poultry from growers to the processing facility in a safe and secure manner. Responsible for compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) safety rules and regulations; and all company policies; and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Comply with all Department of Transportation regulations.
Perform and document pre-trip inspection (i.e. tires, oil, fuel, lights, breaks, hoses, etc.).
Assist with loading and unloading trailer as necessary.
Ensure secure load before movement.
Maintain proper documentation (i.e. equipment, time, trips, weight, etc.).
Clean and wash truck as necessary.
Report truck and equipment maintenance issues to supervisor.
Comply with all DOT safety rules and regulations, all company policies, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.
All other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Minimum 21 years of age.
Valid Class A CDL with 1 year verifiable satisfactory driving record.
Knowledge of Department of Transportation, State and Federal Laws.
Ability to read and write legibly.
Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
