Essential Functions:
Perform all responsibilities of a Route Sales Representative and related tasks.
Learn and support all routes. Run routes as needed for holidays, vacations or other vacancies.
When not on a route, assist in rush deliveries, renewals, audits, training and any other tasks assigned by supervision.
Solicit new customers, up-sell/cross-sell/sample all lines of service or product and ensure a profitable product mix.
Actively participate in promotions and contests, training and audits.

Qualifications:

Safe driving behavior is a must. Obey all traffic laws, drive defensively, always wear your seat belt, remember our 4-second following rule, minimize backing and left turns.
Trucks are kept clean inside and out; maintains the truck(s) fuel tanks half full at all times; Maintains truck fluid levels according to manufacturer standards and notes quantities added on the pre-shift inspection sheet.
Maintains the storage yard in a safe, clean and orderly manner. Ensures that all trash must be properly disposed of and not left in the truck or on the ground. Secures the storage yard when leaving.
All other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Requirements:
Candidate must reside near their assigned area in order to meet customer service time requirements
Ability to successfully pass DOT medical exam
Current and valid driver's license with a clean driving record
All required state-based licensure
Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) no automatics only please

This position is responsible for receiving, shipping, delivering, and picking up equipment to and from Western States and customer locations using a Class 8 truck with Lowboy trailer throughout assigned region. Inspects and maintains company truck and trailer for proper operating condition and schedules necessary repairs. Maintains outward appearance and mechanical condition of company truck.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Pickups and delivers equipment as assigned throughout assigned region (intrastate) on a timely basis using a Class 8 truck with Lowboy trailer.
Determines most efficient route based on load weight, road, and traffic conditions.
Instructs customers on proper equipment use and safety procedures.
Completes status updates using dispatching software, trip envelopes and bill of lading as required.
Loads and unloads equipment onto trailer. Follows all safety requirements to ensure equipment is secured properly.
Maintains a Driver's Log Book as required by DOT regulations.
Follows DOT rules and regulations regarding oversize loads and permits. Administers daily inspection requirements. Meets all DOT driver qualifications rules and regulations. Maintains current CDL.
Completes documents for invoice closeout at the end of each haul.
Monitors trip permits, overweight and length permits. Ensures proper documentation is on hand during haul.
Maintains company truck and trailer appearance and mechanical condition. Schedules necessary repairs, washes and polishes as necessary.
Reports any delays due to breakdowns, weather or traffic conditions or other emergencies, or in the event of irregularities relating to pickup or delivery of equipment.
Reports all accidents and incidents involving drivers or company equipment. Reports highway safety hazards noted in route.
Assists with CRS deliveries as needed
Adheres to all customer care standards.
Actively cares and advocates safety at Western States. Adhere to all applicable safety policies, procedures and standards.
May accomplish training and serve as a team member in support of Western States' strategic programs, projects, and initiatives.

Drivers can earn trip pay based on a calculation of dispatched miles that ranges from $.52 to $.56 cpm depending on route and experience.

No more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years.
No DUI/DWI within the past 5 years, or 10 years if the offense occurred while holding a CDL.
