We are currently seeking UnarmedSecurity Guards (Part Time) to work at various locations and facilities throughout the state of Michigan. This position involves providing a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and visitors at assigned sites.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct routine foot or vehicle patrols of assigned areas (interior and exterior).
Monitor surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm equipment.
Manage facility access by verifying identification, issuing visitor passes, and documenting entries.
Observe, identify, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, or policy violations.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergencies in a calm and professional manner.
Maintain order, protect property, and ensure the safety of employees and visitors.
Prepare accurate and timely daily activity logs and incident reports.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and emergency personnel when necessary.
Follow all company procedures, client protocols, and applicable state and federal regulations.
UnarmedSecurity Guard - Requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
Valid Michigan Driver's License
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident
Minimum 1 year of experience in one of the following:
- Law enforcement
- Military service
- Employment with a licensed security agency
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Must not have any felony convictions
Must be mentally and emotionally fit to perform security duties
Must be in good physical condition
Must not have been adjudged mentally incompetent, unless legally restored by court order
Must have no outstanding warrants
Must be willing to have fingerprints taken
Must pass drug screening and have no substance dependency.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous security, customer service, military, or law enforcement experience.
Experience with security technology and reporting systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure.

3 years of experience -- $73,528
4 years of experience -- $77,002
In addition to the starting salary, police officers hired after October 1, 2023, shall receive a
$20,000 hiring incentive
upon the successful completion of the Field Training Officer Program. The incentive shall be paid in a one-time lump sum contingent upon the employee signing and agreeing to the City's Hiring Incentive Repayment Agreement.

In the pursuit of our mission, we are hiring Substitute Public Safety Officers. Substitute Public Safety Officers are responsible for maintaining the safety of our students, staff, and school communities on a substitute basis at various locations in the district. They will build strong relationships with all school community stakeholders and will become a beacon of comfort for all those in the building. They must be able to act decisively in the face of a crisis, and they will be asked to communicate efficiently in tense situations. They are a crucial component of a school's success and safety.
We will be hiring for specific set of hours for multiple positions. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma
Valid Michigan driver's license
Clean record pertaining to felony convictions; Circuit Court convictions; and misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude, drugs, dishonesty or theft
No physical limitations related to mobility, verbal communication, or visual acuity
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Science, Law Enforcement, or related field
MCOLES certification as a police officer (applicant must be able pass MCOLES certification under P.A. 330, if not qualified presently)
Previous experience in law enforcement, school or private security, the military, or related fields
Training in first aid and CPR

Sunstates Security is currently hiring Flex SecurityOfficers in the Jackson, MI area. All shifts are available. These positions offer a pay rate of $18/hr, paid weekly.
Benefits: All qualifying candidates are eligible for a 401(k) with employer match (up to 8%) that work 20 hours a week (minimum of 500 hours per year or more worked) and have completed six months of service with Sunstates Security.
Requirements:
Previous SecurityOfficer experience preferred.

A SecurityOfficer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The SecurityOfficer will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
Flex Officer Explanation
The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company's operational and financial success. The flex officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.
Scheduling Expectations
The scheduling parameters and expectations for a flex officer are different from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. As a flex:
You will be trained at various posts and /or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week's schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.
You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described on this sheet. If you know you will be unavailable on an upcoming date or time that would normally fall within your availability described on this sheet, you must communicate this with your supervisor, so they know not to schedule you.
For short-notice call-ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. If you refuse more than 20% of shifts for which you are called in, this could negatively impact your employment status with the company.
