POSITION SUMMARY The Shuttle Van Driver is responsible for the effective, efficient, and safe transportation, loading, and unloading of students to and from assigned destinations. Maintain an accurate pre- and post-trip logbook and assigned fuel usage logs. Comply with all State driving regulations and established transportation procedures. Keep the shuttle bus secure and follow all safety procedures; maintain alertness and observe authorized/unauthorized activity, taking appropriate actions. Assist passengers when boarding and exiting the vehicle, as needed. Perform daily/routine cleaning and maintenance activities to maintain a neat and orderly appearance. Ensure reliable and punctual attendance, which is paramount to the effective functioning of the daily transport schedule. Promote good customer relations by consistently providing premier customer satisfaction with a friendly demeanor, can-do attitude, and willingness to help. Use a two-way radio to interact and communicate professionally with the transportation officer and/or supervisor. Prepare and submit accident/incident reports and promptly report all maintenance needs, problems, or other required shuttle information (mechanical or cosmetic) to management.
