Summary:
Develop and execute a girl and adult membership retention plan in assigned communities to achieve annual membership and renewal goals. Increase Girl Scout visibility and engagement in the community through community networking and collaboration.
Essential Functions
Drive membership growth in assigned communities by developing and implementing comprehensive retention plans for girls/ adults in troops using a variety of strategies including volunteer education, modeling troop leadership and ensuring programmatic activities for girls.
Analyze membership gaps throughout the year to readjust plans as necessary to meet grade level and demographic goals.
Recruit, train and provide ongoing support to administrative volunteers to increase functioning level of assigned communities.
Implement the components of volunteer program management with troop leaders and administrative volunteers to ensure they are prepared to deliver the Girl Scout program, providing excellent support and customer service.
Develop and implement a comprehensive community plan in partnership with administrative volunteers for each assigned community that engages and prepares volunteers, caregivers and community organizations to provide girls with a high-quality progressive Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
Provide support to Council strategic initiatives including recruitment, product program, outreach and outdoor program/camp.

Position Details
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The days of work are primarily Monday through Friday, but evening work is frequent and occasional weekend work may be required. Hours of work will vary, depending on support required by service units and time of year. Work schedules are flexible but will be approximately 40-45 hours/week depending on season.
Travel
This is an “in the field” position requiring regular travel to assigned geographic areas of the council.
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Experience recruiting and managing volunteers.
Experience in recruitment and/or sales preferred.
Experience in community outreach or development including school partnerships.

Position Summary:

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Fundraising
Acquire and activate participants by developing impactful relationships within the patient and corporate community empowering them to tell their stories and generate revenue through direct peer-to-peer fundraising. Meeting with assigned event donors, participants, lead volunteers, sponsors, and prospects to deepen our relationships and support their fundraising efforts is a priority.
Go the extra mile to understand the full scope of these diseases and in turn, use that knowledge to connect with patients in a meaningful way. Communicate shared vision by utilizing national campaign and marketing materials, adjusting as appropriate.
Support all events leading auction procurement and coordination, securing in-kind donations, supporting walk teams, participants and sponsors, and dependably support all behind the scenes fundraising, meeting prep, materials development and marketing efforts.
Ensure revenue goal is achieved by implementing, and driving campaign revenue, proactive team engagement, participant acquisition, day of experience, sponsorship, and data-revenue tracking, and executing logistics to provide an inspirational day-of event experience for corporate partners, patients, and supporters.
Prioritize relationship development, with the abilty to build engaging and closely connected relationships with donors and prospects as needed to cultivate strong relationships.
Deliver excellent customer service to all donors, participants, corporate partners, and teams by understanding their interests, responding promptly to requests, and providing consistent year-round communication.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.

As a Crisis Hotline volunteer, you contribute directly to our mission by answering crisis calls and providing essential support to the Crisis Hotline team. Your role is instrumental in ensuring that our vital services are available 24/7 to support individuals in need by providing callers with immediate support in a non-judgmental, trauma informed approach through crisis intervention, safety planning, education, community resources, risk assessment, and information.
Crisis Hotline Volunteers must complete the Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault training before beginning service, as required under California law. Evidence Code §1037.1 requires that advocates and volunteers receive appropriate training prior to providing services to victims and survivors of domestic violence and their children. To qualify as a Sexual Assault Counselor, an individual must complete a minimum of 40 hours of training pursuant to Evidence Code §1035.2 and be an employee or volunteer of a Rape Crisis Center receiving CalOES Rape Crisis Program funding.
The mandatory, all day trainings are scheduled for Monday, September 29th through Friday, October 10th, 2025. 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Training will be on site at 2250 Benton Drive, Redding, CA 96001.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Respond to incoming calls on the crisis hotline promptly and professionally
Assess caller safety and needs to provide information and access to appropriate interventions
Provide immediate crisis intervention and support, offering coping strategies and resources as appropriate
Assess the nature and severity of the caller's crisis to determine appropriate support and intervention
Satisfactory completion of One Safe Place's domestic violence and sexual assault crisis intervention training (pre-volunteer requirement)
Complete required documentation after crisis calls
Lead shifts may include responding to hospitals for SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) or DART (Domestic Assault Response Team) calls
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to listen attentively and empathetically to callers, allowing them to express their feelings and concerns without judgment
Ability to assess caller safety and provide appropriate support and referrals

The 988 Volunteer aids in responding to calls from the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline that is operated by the Helpline's 24/7 call center. The 988 Volunteer works collaboratively with Helpline staff, New Vista service programs, and with community partners to meet the needs of 988 callers. Volunteers will assess
risk by using a person-centered approach, gathering information, building rapport, asking important questions, and collaborating with callers in creating a safety plan, if warranted. It is important that we not just listen to the caller's story, but actively give them the time to talk to someone who cares, and potentially reduce the crisis they are in. The 988 Volunteer is able to think outside the box and promotes a “no wrong door” approach - that any program a client enters can provide a universal gateway to enter any New Vista Services. The 988 Volunteer is a positive team player that promotes a culture of inclusion and participation.

All volunteers must pass 3 supervised calls to determine level of competency before beginning independent 988 crisis call work
Time Requirements
Volunteering 4 or more consecutive hours with the minimum of 18 hours per month

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is frequently performed indoors at the city safety center or at other office locations, and frequently outdoors in the field at emergency response locations. Work requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 125 pounds, reaching with hands and arms in front of body and overhead, using hands and fingers to operate EMS vehicles, equipment, radios and computers.
