As one of our student interns on the Rail Geotechnical and Construction Services team you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. This position will range based on current workload from be working with the geotechnical engineers and construction managers, supporting the soils laboratory and assisting with various field activities from supporting drilling operations to construction observation. Your experience will include assisting our geotechnical engineering team developing geotechnical designs, calculations, and assisting with deliverable preparation for railroad related projects.
The Olsson Rail Geotechnical and Construction Services team supports various railroad related projects across the county. We work with multiple Class 1 railroads, short lines, industries, and public agencies in the rail market. In addition to the upfront geotechnical design services, our interns will also be integrated into the larger Olsson rail program through the various design phases and will also have some exposure to construction management when the design become a reality for our clients. In addition to geotechnical and construction services, Olsson also provides track design, bridge design, hydrology and hydraulics, utility design, signal design, Grade crossings, environmental, construction material testing, survey, non-destructive testing, real estate coordination, facilities, and emergency response services to support our rail clients.
