Tablespoon Cooking Co. is located at Findlay Market in the historic Over-the-Rhine neighborhood in Cincinnati, Ohio. Tablespoon specializes in hands-on cooking classes taught by professional chefs. We also offer private events and catering. Tablespoon teaches people how to cook by sharing tips and tricks from professional kitchens. What do Chef Instructors do at Tablespoon? Tablespoon's Chef Instructors lead our guests through hands-on cooking classes and private events. This is a customer-facing role where you will teach our guests throughout the cooking class, provide help to ensure that their food comes out great, and engage to make sure each guest is having a wonderful time. You'll need to be comfortable wearing a microphone, speaking in front of an audience and commanding a room while also creating a welcoming and fun environment. Coaching children during birthday parties, camp, and parent's night outs COACH RESPONSIBILITIES Coach class sizes of 6 to 15 children, age groups range from roughly 12 months old to 11 years old Teach the KidStrong curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team Must be able to ensure classes both start and end on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of curriculum Greet students as well as the parent(s)/guardian(s) individually prior to and at beginning of class Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor when leading class Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises Ensure cleanliness of the center including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors - this includes taking out the trash, sweeping and mopping, wiping down equipment, and sanitizing the mat at the end of a shift Effectively use the KS Coachs App to record class data and provide records of data for parents (attendance, awards, etc.) Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack, our company messaging system, including periodic checks of messages when not in centers Complete trainings through FranConnect as required by the HQ Training and Certification team Must be able to work in a physically intensive environment - coaches may cover multiple miles in a shift moving through class, lifting and repeatedly moving equipment up to 25 pounds in weight. Must be comfortable working "hands-on" with kids to ensure proper technique and ensure student safety. Assist parents of students, ages 3 and younger, with the direction and flow of a class Attend monthly center staff programming meetings to receive training for next' month's curriculum Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by KidStrong Director Learn and manage Coach KidStrong Camp - special classes held by centers when local schools are not operating (for example: Winter Break, Summer Break) Must obtain certified status by the HQ Training and Certification team Attend monthly center staff programming meetings to receive training for next months curriculum JOB QUALIFICATIONS Passion for working with children is non-negotiable! Prior experience coaching students within the appropriate KidStrong age is preferred Prior experience speaking to and educating parents on the KidStrong curriculum Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise techniques, and body mechanics CPR certified Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills Self-starter who just gets a job done If you enjoy the spotlight, this position was meant for you!
