The Welder's job duties are to properly weld structure or pipe. Essential Functions: * Set and operate welding machine for applicable welding processes. * Perform welding processes assigned for structural, pipe, and welding projects. * Pass required welding test per AWS D1.1 latest edition, ASME section IX, and API 1104. * Maintain quality of welding that can pass NDT testing procedures. * Perform welding assignments safely and efficiently, always practicing safety. * Operate appropriate hand tools (chipping hammers, grinders, etc.) * Weld separately or in combination, using aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, carbon steel, and other alloys. * Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux according to welding chart specifications or any thickness of metals. * Determine required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of welding techniques. * Connect and turn regulator valves to activate and adjust gas flow and pressure to obtain desired flames. * Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking distortion, or expansion of the material. * Expertly welds small, medium, and large structural and pipes of various metals and alloys. * Expertly welds small, medium, and large structural items. * Be able to weld structure (beams, grating, stairways) and pipe. * Transport welding equipment in the yard to the work area. Conduct quality inspections of welded joints to ensure they meet specifications and standards. Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and effectively. Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used. Participate in daily safety meetings and adhere to all company and OSHA safety guidelines. Travel will be expected for this position depending on customer requirements. Notification of travel may be minimal and candidate may need to relocate temporarily at a moments notice. Qualifications: Experience: Experience in pipeline welding, fabrication, and taking measurements. Candidates will be required to pass customer specific welding test upon arrival, prior to being hired by Xccelerated Construction Unlimited. Certification: AWS (American Welding Society) or API (American Petroleum Institute) welding certification is preferred. Efficient in multiple welding procedures as per customer requirements. Knowledge: Understanding of pipeline welding codes, standards, and best practices. Skills: Ability to read, interpret, and draw blueprints, welding symbols, and schematics. Ability to accurately read a tape measure. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 80 - 100 lbs, work in varying weather conditions, and perform tasks requiring physical exertion. Driver's License / Transportation: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites required. Insurance: Vehicle must have up to date insurance.
